No DVC Welcome Home Package or ID's

Just wondering about whether there is an ID that comes with some a second package. We just received one letter that had a member number in it. We were able to book our vacation. Is there an ID and package that I missed?

Yes, when we bought a couple of months ago there was a second package about ten days to two weeks later that had our membership cards and vacation planner in it.

If you don't get your Member ID cards prior to your upcoming vacation, there are a number of places at WDW where you can get them:
DVC Preview Center @ SSR
Community Hall @ BWV
BLT Lobby

We are in the process of closing on our first resale. Do you just need your member ID to make reservation? What do you need the cards for? I know it is good to have both but trying to figure out the function of each. Thanks

It's been a month since we received the letter with our membership number, but still no member ID cards here either. I plan on picking up the cards at BWV Community Hall next month. Is there anything else that comes in the package with the cards that I would be missing?

You really only need it to prove eligibility for discounts (dining or merchandise) or DVC Member pricing on Annual Passes.

Yes.

The ID cards are mailed by an outside contractor in batches. You could receive it in a week or you could receive it in a month or longer. It all depends on the timing and number of cards waiting to be processed.

Update: We closed on 3/25, received our membership number on 4/12, and our member ID cards just came today, on 5/22.

We closed on March 12 and got our member # letter in mail on March 25. We were already existing members, but this was a new home resort (same UY). We did NOT get any cards or planner this time...should we have?

It was a long process. I guess I need to be more patient, the package arrived today. Looking forward to being able to flash it finally.

We got our membership letter a month ago but nothing else so I presume existing members don't get anything.

Strangely our letter welsomed us home to BLT where we already own and our new contract was SSR. Sent me in to a panic for a minute so checked all my paperwork and the DVC site and I did definitely buy in to SSR!

Your new contract should be a sub-contract to your original. You have the same member number and account for both contracts so there isn't any reason to get additional member ID's.

Having one UY will make things easier.
