No DVC membership card at all when not purchasing direct?

I commented earlier about this, but the thread is now locked. Is the following true?

At the bottom of Disney DVC pages, Disney says that you not only don’t get a blue card or a white card when not purchasing direct, you don’t get a membership card at all. Here is the fine print (bolded):

The white card was never considered a membership card by DVC. It was referred to as membership identification. Semantics, but I think that is why they language says what it does.

But, cards are going away…the only thing is the affiliations in Magic Mobile. Those who are eligible for perks will see DVC Y. Those that are not will see DVC ND.

The physical cards all expired on 12/31/2021. Nobody gets physical cards anymore.
