No Debates About The Illegal Immigrants Issue?

Not rascist at all. I have hispanic friends, they will talk about how so many people waltz around town in their big vehicles, sportin' food stamps, medicaid, wic, thinking they own the place and not speakin a lick of english. Sporting their flags and being just plain rude to everyone but their own. I don't care what race people are, as long as they aren't here illegally and leaching off the government. My post wasn't about hispanics in general, only ones breakin the law. I never said,"ALL HISPANICS ARE LOSERS." I don't believe that, everyone is the same, but criminals are criminals, no matter the crime, it's wrong. Our country shouldn't give them handouts. I mostly mentioned the whole nice cars and food stamps because it's not easy to get food stamps. My sister and her family went through a hard time at one point and tried to get food stamps. Good luck if your white. They had 6 kids, one income(blue coller worker) and were turned down. Know why? Because they had a newish vehicle, a big van, that someone GAVE them. So how do other people pay for hundreds of dollars of grocerys and load them into their new SUVs? It's called lying to the government and it's ILLEGAL and wrong. It hurts everyone else who is trying to live an honest life. Not rascist at all.

Dean and Bush agree on the legislation at the heart of the debate. Both support a Senate bill that would expand guest-worker programs for an estimated 400,000 immigrants each year.

However, at a speech in an Oakland union hall, the 2004 Democratic presidential candidate sought to tie Bush to a much tougher House bill that would tighten borders and make it a crime to be in the United States illegally or to offer aid to illegal immigrants. Bush does not back the House bill.

That is one of the funniest things I've ever read. A crime to be here illegally?
I can't even make any funny comparisons because I've never read anything so illogical in my life. :rotfl2:

But if you disagree with someone you don't attack a person's kids or religion, but address the ideas and call names.

I also shouldn't have gotten rude, and I apologize for that. It doesn't help anyone.

I wasn't attacking a little child. I pity the child to whom a gun is given. Religion is about kindness and compassion. I believe you should practice what you preach. :confused3

I don't doubt you have experienced all of the above. I understand it is infuriating! I have witnessed it myself. It happens with a certain element of society, not necessarily Latino. Your other post came off as though everyone of them is looking for a hand out. We have day laborers where I live, gardeners, Nanny's etc. They work 18 hours a day! So you just can't stereotype. Give the hardworking people their due! They just may end up being outstanding citizen's! Peace!
I agree illegals need to be sent back or at least reviewed. I just wish people would try to be more understanding and open minded.

It's all over the news here, the schools that are protesting. And you know what? Many of students are being arrested for throwing gang signs and fighting. And when they're interviewed about their cause, they don't have a clue what the heck they're talking about. It's ridiculous. This is what they did at a Whittier high school:

Yep, they got my support.

I'm sorry they live in such a crappy country. Not my fault.

I just wish they would stay in THEIR country until we give them permission to enter OURS.

Is that really too much to ask?

No it's not. The problem is we have not been enforcing the laws and now we are overwhelmed. I just hope we don't throw the baby out with the bath water....

My main experience with this situation has been in my kid's schools. I have been very active as both a room mom and just a parent helping out and volunteering. In the 9 years that my kids were in elementary school, some things became very frustrating to me. I think that parental support is one of the most important things in a child's life, and in my kid's classes we had no volunteers from the parents of the hispanic children, not for centers, not for field days, not for field trips. Weekly folders were routinely not returned or were "lost" and permission slips almost impossible to obtain. Funds for field trips never sent in and worked in to the total that we had to pay. I found it frustrating because some of these kids would only be in the class one year or maybe two, they receive free breakfast and lunch, spoke mostly spanish. The teachers had to change their teaching style to accomodate this. I do feel that this was not in my children's best interest. Just my two cents.

Anyone responsible for this flag incident at Whittier High School should have been hung from that very pole!

Oh, and here's one . . . in a small town outside of Dallas, a white high school student came to school with 3 American flags on his truck. The school sent him home saying that this might cause him some safety issues. What the heck ? ? ? :confused3

The media interviewed him and he said, "Hey, they fly their Mexican flag so why can't I, here in America, fly the American flag"? The school said that no flags are permitted. What ? ? ? :confused3 Now how ridiculous is that?

I am not one for lawsuits, but I hope he sues the pants off the school! :cheer2:

I also heard that this "march" that is coming up with all the Mexicans, they are asked to wear white t-shirts and carry an American flag. Yeah right. Like that's gonna happen! :lmao:
