No debate, just an inquiry: How is your community reacting?

Lots of flags and support here, protester drew 100, rally for troops drew 500, (guess which one got more media coverage?) Don't know where these people get, 80% of people I talk to don't agree, maybe they only ask 5 and 4 disagree. It's more like 90% I talk to do agree.

Most of the people in my world are, understandably, 100% against the war. I read these boards to see the other side of the debate.

I also listen to a syndicated radio program that is against the war and against what the government is doing but everyone is for getting our guys back healthy and fast.

Well it has been interesting....on Wednesday there were about 30 kids from our high school that walked out of classes in protest to the war. Then yesterday there were several hundred, I believe that marched from campus to downtown. I have seen an increased amount of police officers in the area and I don't know if that is because we are a college town or that we have railtracks that go through our town (I saw two police officers sitting in a "stripmall like" area that the tracks run behind yesterday - they never sit there. That is also a main road into town).

I frankly refuse to honk at any protestors whether it is for peace or for the war. We are a small enough town that I don't want my car gone after because I honked at one vs another and I'm also known in town thanks to my volunteer activities. I have my thoughts and they have theirs but I will tell ya - I DO NOT appreciate them trying to push their thoughts on to me - I just don't think it's right even though it's a right they have.
