December:

Groceries - 172.83/350 (giving myself $50 extra for Christmas dinner)
Eating out - 58.77/150

I made alot of chicken last night for dinner and I took the juices from the pan and added a lot of water and cut up carrots that were going bad, some celery and onion that I bought yesterday for .90. Cut up some of the leftover chicken from last night. I took one breast with me to work today and another breast for lunch tomorrow. Then I broke the stock with the chicken and vegetables in half and froze the one half after it was cooked. Then I cooked some noodles separately and added to 1/2 of the vegetable chicken stock. I have approx. 3 quarts of Chicken noodle soup made! And another 3 quarts in the freezer, just waiting for the noodles ;). So for approx. 3.50 including the cost of the chicken. I made a gallon and 1/2 of soup! :scared1:

Thats great! Chicken soup is one of my best money stretchers too! ;)

8- car repairs $172.73 -- so ticked off! Brought it in to get the tires changed. Told them the passenger power locks weren't working properly. They called when they just looked at one side and said $200 to fix! WTH! I don't need it that bad. My max was $50 but it was $94 already done to tell me the freaking problem! Now they're saying ok, we won't fix but you still have to pay the $94 for labour and they could seize so you can't open the doors even manually... why the hell not???? There are 50yr old clunkers out there that the doors can still open! Really regretting buying a Dodge Caravan instead of a Honda or Toyota. Piece of junk!

Only spent $62.45 at the grocery store Saturday! DH was thrilled. Trying to clean out the pantry & freezer. Told DD we would be eating out of the freezer and she said, "Can you at least heat the food? Otherwise it will be cold." DH & I had a good chuckle over that! We just explained that we might be eating some different combinations of food but that I would heating it up.

It's just too dang cold to go shopping...

I totally agree! It sounds like many of us are experiencing the wonderful Midwestern winter wind. ;)

I DID mean to pick up some milk on the way home from work today, but I must have "forgot" - or maybe it was the -18 degree windchill.

I hope I've got everything recorded - my computer cord busted so I haven't been able to use my laptop. Thankfully, I can float the $90 or so it cost for a new one - I love having emergency savings! :goodvibes

Well the weather stinks but look how much money you're saving. I'm keeping track of my spending on paper right now. I hope to update it tomorrow. Lets just say that even though Connecticut has been chilly the past few days I've still managed not to have a 0 day since Dec 2nd. I'll never hit my 10. It's so sad!:sad2: I need a really good blizzard, oh and I need to loose my internet connection so I can't buy online!
