I just called CRO to make a reservation at PO and the CM said nothing was available. She then went on to check other resorts, all of them The one and only resort that had rooms was ASSports. Not really what I was looking for. She had no idea why this would be? Can it really be from the CB closing, the Food and Wine Festival and The Soap Opera weekend on top of it being Veterns Day? I am just amazed. If anyone else has any input to this please let me know. We were planning our first trip without the kids. BTW there are rooms starting on the 10th:rolleyes:

Was it NO ROOM period or no availability for a code? We got ressies at ASSp the first morning the codes came out. We actually waited too long and that's what we ended up with. We were trying for the Poly.

Did she check the deluxe resorts or just the moderates and the values? I just find it hard to believe that all 22,000 plus rooms are sold our that weekend.

It's probably a combinationof all the things you mentioned PLUS the fact that the NJ schools have 11/7 & 11/8 off. It's for an annual state-wide teacher's conference. Many NJ families use the time for a trip to Disney World and thus the demand for on site accomodations is higher than it might otherwise be.

Hope you catch a cancellation. Good luck!

She looked up everything. When I go to the WDW website to book I get the same thing, just ASSPorts.

I just checked Expedia and PO and several others came up as availalbe for Veteran's Day.

That doesn't necessarily mean that rooms are actually available. With Expedia, until you try to book (put in your credit card), you don't know if you will actually get a confirmed reservation. Sometimes it comes back with a "sorry" type message.

That said, there very well still could be rooms available on Veteran's Day. Since the original poster said there were rooms available starting the 10th (Sunday, 11/10), I assumed she was looking for a room over the weekend preceding Veteran's Day - 11/8 & 11/9.

Well, as a Disney stockholder I am glad that all 22,000 plus rooms are booked for Vetern's weekend.:p Maybe it is a sign of things turning around? Somehow I doubt it though:( We just came back from a five day stay and the crowds were not what we would expect for summer crowds.

That's just what happened:(

I am a CBR relocatee. My original reservation was for nov 9-16th. I called last Monday and got a very nice CM who could not find anything for me on the 9th. for the 10th on, I had multiple choices. She looked for about 5 minutes and said she wasn't giving up, but she wasn't having any luck either( she was trying moderates and deluxes). I decided to try for Universal Hard rock hotel for a change of pacefor one night on the 9th and got AKL sav view for the rest of the stay. So it worked out well for me as I get a nice upgrade, plus it pushed me into trying something different (HRH).

I hope you do have luck on the 9th finding a room. As a note, the CM said it was because of Jersey week, the Food festival, some golf tournament? and soap weekend all hitting at once. I believe what she said is true and didn't feel she was giving me an official disney line. She said crowds should disappear after the veteran's day holiday(11th).

We will be at BC 11/6 - 11/11 and I check on the website every now and again to see occupancy levels. Yesterday the only thing available was campsites and today ASsports. I think it has something to do with CBR because I was checking after the codes came out and the only thing you could not get was CR and GF garden view and then all of a sudden nothing. There is still plenty of airfare out of NJ and Phila. Just my 2 cents

Maybe they are holding on to rooms until the CBR transfers get taken care of. Maybe if you try back in a few weeks they will free up some of those rooms. I don't know how far they are in getting everyone into another resort.

Same thing happened to me when I recently checked for Columbus Day Weekend . . .

DH and I will be celebrating our 15th Anniversary and we were going to go for a short mini vaca . . .airfare finally went down, but before I booked it I wanted to see what resorts were available. They were booked solid except AKL and AllStar . . .needless to say neither DH or I wanted either of those . . .so there won't be an October trip for us this time :(

The CM I spoke to didn't understand why everything was booked up . . .she said she had no idea what was going on . . .seems strange . . .

I am glad we change our ressie back in July. Originally we were going in Dec but had to change to Oct 5-12 due to an unexpected pregnancy. Origianlly booked for PO-R and when the codes came out, WL:p . It looks like it was a good thing we changed back then as everything seems to have booked up.

Have you considered the Swan or Dolphin? The web site shows avail. with some discount rates. Also, if you are adventureous, someone posted on the Priceline/Expedia board that they just got the Dolphin for $75 for the 9th.

For our week of Oct 6-13th.......the only availability was a mixture.....Poly GV and GF Concierge......thats it.;)

by mixture I meant that you had to do both resorts to get the whole week.
but the availability has changed each time I have called but it is VERY sparse.

I made our reservations back in May and when the codes came out we switched to from the GF to the YC Conceirge. This is the week that a lot of people from New Jersey are going. Schools here are closed from 11/7 - 11/11. This is the last year we will see the 5 days for a few years. Everybody I talk to is going down either the 4th or 5th and checking out the 11th.

Even when I called back in May I had trouble getting certain nights, maybe something else is going on too. (besides Super Soap Weekend/Food & Wine/Festival of the Masters)

Good luck and just keep checking back, that is what we did.
