I guess my perspective on the photo works is different, also. Frankly, when I hear crappy work, I think no focus, poor light, blurred. I just do not see that. If crappy is "I am not in any", well that is a different story and usually not the photographer's fault. You can usually blame the runner in front of you if you need to blame someone.
Tips
Know where the photographers are going to be. They will tell you at the expo if asked, or at least the main spots. THere are other surprise locations that they tend to not talk of, but that is usually where overflow folks are sent. Plan on Main, Coming out of the castle, Dinoland, running away from the Sorcerer's hat, France coming up the hill....
You can usually tell where one is because most flash through the early AM. slow up just a bit to give some gap. They cannot see you is you are behind someone.
Conversely, one of my biggest peeves are the camera hogs who run side to side coming out of the castle looking to get as many photos as possible. STOP IT if you are one. If you want a sure bet phot in front of the castle, pull off course left after coming off the ramp. There is a photographer there taking special shots.
Make sure you bib is seen. As I look through lost and found, there are a high percentage of photos where only part of the bib is viewable.
Give the service time to sort. All services run through photos through software to sort out numbers. THis is not 100% perfect. If you wait a few days, you may have more photos appear. If you have some that are not your, please email customer service about the photo. That runner may be looking for their photo.
Remember there are 45000+ runners and only 50-80 photographers. You may not be in many or any.
