No Adults w/kids in A&E FP line?

It is a shame that society does not make children a higher priority. I was speaking globally, not personally. I am very passionate about this topic because it is my life's work. I see things every day that would shock you. Things that you cannot "unsee."

My comments were not directed at you in particular. You actually sound like a very thoughtful and responsible parent, and I wish you well.

I will be getting off my soap box now before I offend anyone else unintentionally.

No worries. I understand being passionate about it. I think we see things differently, likely due to different life experiences. No big deal. And we should likely not discuss it farther because it could drift into politics and I'm sure neither of us wants points. :thumbsup2

So, how 'bout that Anna and Elsa, huh? Nice dresses.

. It upsets me that Fast Pass+ takes precedence over a child's well-being.

Psssst......... It wasn't about fastpass. It's about teaching her to be independent, confident and self-sufficient...... in small steps.

You have to start with small things like this if you are going to tackle the bigger things later.

I think it's being misread. A 7 year old can ride alone. They cannot ride with younger children. Anybody younger than 7 has to be accompanied by somebody who is at least 14. That is to go on attractions. You've got to be at least 14 to enter a park unaccompanied. Younger than that and you have to have somebody at least 14 with you.

Either that or the thread has been diverted to a discussion of how old a child must be to stay home alone, which is not the same thing as entering a theme park attraction. I suppose an argument could be made that 7 is too young to ride alone. maybe, but that's the age Disney's set. And sending a 7 year old to ride alone isn't breaking the law apparently. it's just Disney's policy. They consider a 7 year old to be old enough to follow instructions for the attraction and in case of emergency, but not to supervise younger children. I can't see that being unreasonable.

Absolutely.:thumbsup2

Enjoy your next trip to the World.:)

The system won't allow you to book a FP+ for a child under 7 without someone over 14 being booked at the same time, so what you're proposing couldn't happen anyway.

Now, FWIW, it did seem like the system automatically associated my 4 year old's FP+ time with an adult. So when I selected his time, when I finished, it had moved one of the adult's FP+ time to exactly correspond with the 4 year old's. I played with our A&E FP+ times a bit (since we had overlapping windows for A&E and not everyone all at once), and started to notice that when I'd go in to change my son's, the system was moving one of the adult's times as well. At first, my son was "placed" with my husband, but in the end, the system "assigned" me to overlap with him. Perhaps this is a "loophole" to getting aligned times if you have a child under 7? I'd be interested to see if anyone else had the same experience, or if I was just imagining things.

This is actually really useful information -- thank you! I can't book until next month, but when I do I will try booking my 5 year old first and hope it "places" me or H with her. :goodvibes
