NJ & Sandy

just lost one of the gutters on my building. it wasn't attached well or anything, but the wind must be picking up.

Stay safe, everyone! My grandmother lives in Pt. Pleasant, luckily she is with my uncle in Pennsylvania. :goodvibes

That's the next town over from where I live. It's probably a good thing she's in PA as Pt Boro (she may be from Pt Beach, though) were considering a mandatory evacuation by 4pm today.

I don't have to go to work today...good thing, because the 2 towns that I would drive through to get there have bans on non-essential personnel on the roads. I guess I could've stood outside with my arms spread and the wind might've gotten me there. (No broom jokes please! :rotfl:)
So far, just lots of rain and wind. But I still see plenty of traffic on Parkway South, and very little on Parkway North. Wonder where everyone is going?
Stay safe everyone, and keep checking in if you can!
ETA: From the Asbury Park Press website:
Point Pleasant Beach: Mandatory for all residents east of the railroad tracks; voluntary for all residents west of the railroad tracks.

Point Pleasant Borough: Voluntary for all residents, with a mandatory evacuation likely for Monday.

Burlington County here, wishing I was at home with husband and kids but lucky me I get to work with the worst co-worker ever :( Stay safe everyone.

Monmouth County here.

Our schools are closed until Wed at the earliest. I am so upset that I didn't bring my letter of recommendation folder home. I wanted to get the last 4 letters done by the end of Oct. It probably won't happen.

The monmouth mall is closed for Monday and Tuesday. My ds works for jcp and they called him yesterday about their closure.

Stay safe.

Wind is really picking up. Already 1600 without power in my town. (that was before the wind picked up:confused3) My little guy is sick so I really hope we keep power.
Donna (Monmouth County)

Camden County here-- just got notifications that stated that major highways in Camden County are flooded.

3 feet in town during high tide. Mom & Dad had to come off the island using Atlantic Avenue because the Boulevard (Bay Ave) was flooded.

Mandatory as of 4PM this afternoon. Local news is saying it will be worse than '62. I sure hope not.

Checking in from western Essex County... so far so good. A bit windy, light rain. My office is closed, school is closed, but DH had to go in to work.

There is a picture going around via text of Chicken or the Egg under that water early this am before sunrise. We were just there two weeks ago enjoying dinner with some friends. I will be praying for the people in the path of this storm. Be safe everyone!

Checking in from Atlantic City. Not good. At all. From the pictures I've seen, most of AC and Ventnor are under water. The dunes in Ventnor were no match for the ocean. There's an 80 foot piece of the inlet section of the AC boardwalk that has been ripped away and is floating down streets. All of this and the worst is yet to come.

Omg you didn't evacuate? I'm panicking and I not even in NJ today!

Part of our town is evacuated. The wind is kicking up in gusts.

I am glued to the t.v.~

Sewell/Mullica Hill here--lots of rain, mild wind--so far so good. Haven't been on the roads in the area though.

Deptford here, steady rain and wind is slowly picking up. Not sure of road conditions

OK, I'm in PA, not NJ, but thought I'd pop in.

The Halloween parade yesterday was cancelled, which, in hindsight, was a bit silly.

School was also cancelled today. Students probably could have gone today. But tomorrow is going to be BAD.

Anyone on Facebook should check out "jersey shore hurricane news" .....Great reports from folks all over NJ about what is happening, things to do , photos etc. It was an excellent resource during Irene last year also.....

I saw the picture on FB. I also saw on in front of Buckalew's, another on Engleside Avenue at the BH Police Dept. OMG. So much water, so much force.

I know it because I've seen the pictures but seeing that in your post just brought on the tears. The pictures are already horrible and the worst has not happened yet.:sad2::sad1:

Gloucester County here...some rain and gusty winds. My husband had to work in Philly today. Hoping the walt whitman bridge stays open so he can get home. I work at Acme and we are NOT closing. Guess they don't care about the employees that have to work this evening!!!! Be safe everyone!!!
