Day 5, Part 2 YACHT CLUB, EPCOT AND YACHTMANS STEAK HOUSE
Crew: DH, DD1, DD2 and me (DW)
Once we got into EPCOT through the International Gateway, we headed to the UK for lunch. We grabbed some fish and chips and hot dogs and sat at tables outside the Rose and Crown for lunch. We then headed for Canada, and worked our way around the countries. Between Canada and Mexico there are some gift shops, so we had to stroll through them of course!
Once we got to Mexico we did the boat ride and then DH and DD1 each got a frozen margarita outside at one of the stands it was VERY GOOD of course I had to take a taste of each to give them my stamp of approval! I cant remember the names of all the countries in order, but I know we saw Mulan, and in Germany we came across Snow White. DD2, ever ready with her autograph book never missed an opportunity to get a signature and a photo! DD2 and I did the Malestrom in Norway (DH and DD1 were finishing their margaritas). We had some ice cones in Japan while we watched a show outside saw the show in the American Adventure exhibit and just kept going. I was hoping to see the statues in Italy, but we were not in that area when they were performing and the wait would have been too long, so we had to pass on that. By this time it started clouding up a little and we were thankful it was very hot and we were in the park during the hottest part of the day.
After visiting all the countries, we headed over the International Gateway and waited for the ferry to take us back to the YC. The ferry was very prompt and we enjoyed riding to the YC. Once we got back we strolled through the lobby and stopped at bell services who told us our luggage was indeed there and they would send someone right up with it. We couldnt have been in our room more than 5 minutes and our luggage arrived.
In the AKL, there had been insufficient drawer space at the YC, I felt like I wanted to unpack and feel at home for the rest of the vacation. DD1 felt the same way, so we unpacked everything we could, put on our swimsuits and headed down to Stormalong Bay for a quick swim.
DD2 is part fish and loves the water. She is also the type of child who never meets a stranger and will go up and talk with other kids her own age to find someone to swim with. DD1 and I checked out the pool (DH was relaxing in the room) and waited for DD2 to come down the slide. Before I knew it, DD2 came up with two girls she knew from her dance class back in NJ! So, for the next hour, the three girls played together while DD1 and I cooled off.
When we got to SAB it was late in the day (about 4:00) so there were plenty of chairs as people were starting to vacate them from an afternoon at the pool. We were able to get a couple of prime location chairs and relax. DD1 commented on the fact that she is glad we went to YC at the second half of the vacation and not the first half she would have been disappointed going from the YC to the AKL and was so happy it was the other way around.
