Day 1, Part 3
We head down to the bus stop for the MK and then planned to walk or take the Monorail over to the Contemporary. We didnt wait too long for the bus and once we were at the MK, we decided to walk over to the Contemporary I dont think we knew where we were going! We ended up cutting across some grass and walked along the front of the Contemporary until we could walked up the driveway laughing the whole way! We must have looked a sight! DH was having some problems walking and it was beginning to sprinkle a little. We were happy once we made it inside the Contemporary.
In order to reach the 15th floor where the California Grill is, you have to check in on the second floor. Once you check in, they have escorts who take you to their express elevator and take you up to the 15th floor. We were lucky enough to get a table right by the window facing the Castle. The Pixie Dust is flowing for us so far!
Dinner was very good. DH had the filet mignon, DD1 had the salmon, I had the pork tenderloin and DD2 had Mickeys mac and cheese. DD2 also ate part of DH appetizer which was Wild Mushroom Soup it was very good. After dinner we were told that we could return to the observation deck to watch the fireworks at any time that evening. All we had to do was tell them we were guests there that evening and show them our receipt.
We then headed down to floor 4 to check out the shops and roam around the hotel while we waited for Wishes at the MK to begin. DD2 picked up her autograph book, DH bought some more pins and we watched the lightening and wondered if they would have the Wishes show that night or not.
Finally we decided we were tired and would head back to the AKL it had been a long day and we knew there was more in store for us tomorrow. As we exited the Contemporary, Wishes was indeed illuminating the sky so we stood there awhile and watched the show. At that time a taxi pulled up and we decided to grab it to take back to the AKL instead of Disney transportation.
Once back in the room we checked out which animals were out in the savannah and then fell into bed in a sound sleep.
