Okay- I need at least one of these for Christmas but would like possibly 2 of them if the price is right. Let's see if we can find some deals on them! Anyone know of any Black Friday deals for them? Anyone?

I am also looking for deals on these things, but can someone please explain to me the difference between the DS and the DS lite? I am video game challenged!!

Not sure if your system has to be new or not but..

I got my 4 yo son a ds lite over the summer. I purchased it off of Craigslist. It's like brand new and we haven't had any problems with it. I only paid $60.00 for it.

Just a thought :)

If you have ninetendo sp at home that nobody is using and it has a charger. You can trade it in to EB games for the DS lite for 89.99 I think or 79.99 I can't remember.

Also, both BJ's and Sam's have some nice bundle kits for 169.00. The going rate for the DS lite everywhere is 129.99, so with a bundle you get extra stylus, and 2 games.

Not sure which one we are going to do for my daughter yet.

Subbing, this is the top of dd's list too!

New ones are price-fixed by the mfr., stores are not allowed to sell them at any other price but $129. However, they can bundle games/accessories with them at special rates, and they can offer gift cards with purchase. Those are the only kinds of deals that you will find; no straight price breaks will be happening.

The DS Lite is basically an updated version of the DS. It is slightly smaller and lighter. It also has improved battery life and a brighter screen.

The best deal I have found was the TRU 20% off DS, game, accessory. My son couldn't wait any longer and I let him get it. I think they will offer this again in the future, so watch the ads.
Also some of the bundles are a good deal if the games are good for your player.
As far as games, I have been happy with the used games I buy at Blockbuster. They are used but I have never had a problem with them, and they are returnable if they don't work.

You could also purchase it on ebay using the live.com 25% cashback. That would bring the $129.99 total to $97.50...

I bought 2 at the Limited Too store and got the Too Bucks back to use later. Total (for 2 DS Lites) was $259.98, I received $125 in Too Bucks to use after Thanksgiving, and $50 in Too Bucks to use after Christmas. I didn't think it was a bad deal, I shop at Limited Too pretty often so I will definitely use the Too Bucks! They only have pink though.

I got it at Amazon at 119 plus if you used Bill Me Later with it you got another 20 or 30 (can't remember) off. I don't think the deal is still going on though.

We did the trade in at Game Stop (now we just need to keep deterring the girls from asking what happened to the GBA). They've extended the offer to Nov 23. If I had known they were going to do that I would have waited, but it ws supposed to end Nov 2. Here's the details copied from the Game Stop website -realizing of course that it's only good if you own an older model Game Boy. Oh, and they tax you on the entire ammount of the DS, then take the discount. I think that's what dh said, I was away on business. The total ended up $94

DS trade up offer, new DS for $89

Trade in your original DS or GBA SP and get a new DS for $89.

Expires: 11/23/08. Net prices shown good after trade of hardware. DS bundles excluded from offer. Offer not good on cash trades. Trades must be in full working condition to receive full value. Hardware must have all necessary components for trade. Cannot be combined with any other offer. DS hardware subject to availability by location. Trade-ins subject to manager approval. See store associate for details. No dealers.

I had to look that store up.....yeah, no wonder I am not familiar....it is a GIRL'S store! LOL!
