Can anyone Google Maps this 'new land' for me? I'm new to the area, so the locations are foreign for me .

Oh I'm certain there will be a third gate with all of the land they bought, I'm just guessing we won't see it for at least 5 years.

5 years is hardly "many many years." Also, Universal is not known for taking an unreasonably long with new projects...unlike its rodent neighbor

I saw on MyNintendoNews a couple of patents that came out that have interesting NintendoLand possibilities. For Both a Mario Kart and a Donkey Kong ride.

Per MyNintendoNews:

“A two-rider, car-based amusement racing attraction with the ability to simulate drifting sensations. Two passengers, who could be in time/points competition with another car, will have control over some aspect of their ride vehicle: The driver would have a steering wheel and an acceleration and brake pedal to control the turning/drifting of the vehicle and speed; the rear passenger would have a control interface with buttons that could control the vehicle or bounce the ride vehicle, provide a boost to the vehicle during the race or affect the performance of another ride vehicle on the track, said the patent."

The boom coaster is “This is a unique arm that would attach to a ride vehicle to help enhance rides that appear to be on a track system, but are actually controlled by a separate arm. For example, the arm could be C-shaped connected to a secondary hidden track underneath the track guests see. As a result, rides that have story element breaks in the track — say like an upcoming jump from one track to another — could cause suspense. “Because the passenger may believe that the simulated ride surface controls a path of the passenger vehicle, the passenger may fear or anticipate that the passenger vehicle may crash or otherwise incur damage as a result of the elevated gap,” said the patent. This has many fans thinking it could also be related to Nintendo via the Donkey Kong Country video game series, which features areas with cars traveling through dangerous mines filled with jumps, dips and turns”

Naturally Patents are not anything close to confirmation of what rides there will be but its interesting speculation.

I hope they create more relationships with other video game companies after this. If they can get something like a minecraft land at the third park they will create a lot of pull for kids to go to universal rather than disney.

My kids are 12 and 14. Hopefully it's opens before they're out of their teens. If Disney was building it I'm sure I'd have grandchildren before it opened.

Heck Nintendo could be for both even. Maybe do a Super Nintendo World in the current Universal or IoA parks then build another Nintendo themed area in a third rides park. Have the Mario and Donkey Kong themed areas for in the current parks then build Hyrule or something for a land in a new park or something along those lines.

Nintendo has so many properties that not doing more at the third park would be silly. I just wish we had more info about the third park...any information actually.

Officially Universal has announced nothing about another theme park. The only information we "know" is they repurchased a huge chunk of land over by the convention center (the old Lockheed Martin site). Large sections of the land were already zoned for theme park from the first time they owned the land. If I remember correctly there has also been permits filed for "clearing".

Nintendo is a bit of an anomaly for official information. Universal usually keeps fairly quiet about things publicly until construction is well under way. Nintendo probably wanted the buzz early for Super Nintendo Land.

Yeah that's what I meant when I said that we have no information for the third park. It's just the inevitable announcement we are all just waiting for. They have so many other projects being built right now that they are probably waiting to announce anything until they have more projects finished.

Yea I imagine we probably won't hear much until around 2018. Probably wait to announce it until they have to when construction starts. Announcing it could cause people to wait to come to the park until it is open. A single attraction can have an impact on when people visit, so just imagine what effect and entire park would have. If i was planning to visit end of next year but they announced a new park opening a year or two later I'd probably wait to visit until then since there would be a lot of new stuff.
