Okay, I sent my brother (the guest of honor of our trip next month) to Allears to peruse the menus and pick some restaurants.

Of course he came back with Nine Dragons, which I'm less than thrilled about, as his top pick.
Being the great sister that I am I called on our 90 day mark and got us an ADR for lunch (I'm a passholder, might as well pick up that extra 10% off, right? :cool1: )

Well.. now my question is.. What is this place like?
The only thing I EVER eat at a Chinese Restaurant is sweet and sour chicken (just the sauce and the chicken) and white rice. Nothing else has ever appealed to me..

The only two things on the menu that look appeasing to me at all are the...

Honey Sesame Chicken -- Batter fried chicken breast served in a delicious, tangy honey and sesame sauce. $14.75 ((Not a huge fan of Honey..))

Canton Pepper Beef -- Sliced beef stir-fried with onion, green and red peppers. $13.99

Anyone have any reviews on these?

Or even the Sweet n Sour pork?.. I'm not a big fan of pork but I guess it's the closest to anything I KNOW I'll like..

Sorry that this is so long, I'm just trying to figure out before we get there.
He doesn't know I'm not 100% into eating here so I'd like to go with a game plan and hopefully he'll never know :) :)

We ate there in July. It is very expensive for the portion size IMHO. It was very good though.

There is not a lot of variety.

I must say that though I have never personally dined at Nine Dragons...over the years I have noticed that the honey sesame chicken has received high praise on these boards (from the folks who have enjoyed meals there) I hope that helps... :flower:

We were going to eat here on our last trip, but changed to Boma at the last minute. It smelled wonderful when we walked by,though. Give it a try.

My husband and I both had they honey sesame chicken in October and loved it.

My family loved Nine Dragons when we ate lunch there in Sept. We had all the dishes that the OP mentioned as part of the lunch special. DS,14, who until that day had only eaten chicken with broccoli and General Tso's chicken, tried and loved them all. It was the best Chinese food any of us have ever had.

My DS (15) and I had dinner at Nine Dragons in June. We had a meal there many years ago and decided to try it this time. We were very impressed with the food and the selections. The dinner menu is huge with a lot of options. They have the standard Chinese items as well as very different offerings. I had some kind of white fish in a delicious sauce. It was a huge piece of fish and was really excellent. Nine Dragons is now on our MUST do list for future trips.

The honey sesame chicken was delicious!!!! Both DH & I had it during our visit last month and both loved it.

Here's a picture of it (partially eaten!)...

We really enjoyed Nine Dragons during our last trip in September; the Honey Chicken stands out as superb, as is the Nine Dragons Fried Rice. At lunch, the dim sum/appetizers were wonderful. We like Chinese food and liked Nine Dragons enough to have made an ADR for our New Year's trip!

Personally, we find it one of the best meals we eat there. We, a family of four (kids 8 & 10) will order the dinner for 2 (double honey sesame chicken), then a seperate order of kung pao chicken. This is plenty for the four of us, their portions are quite generous. IMO, thier Kung Pao is some of the best I have ever had, plus, they give you the peanut option, they are served on the side.
