Nikki Bird Disaster!

I received two e-mails from Price Line which stated the exact same thing --

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Dear Priceline Customer,

We have received word that the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird has changed
ownership and is now called the Home Sweet Home. Due to the change in
management, the Home Sweet Home is now offering housekeeping services on a
weekly basis only, as opposed to daily.

If you would prefer to cancel this reservation, please call us at
1-800-340-0575 prior to your check-in date of 8/12/2006 and we will issue a
complete refund.

We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to serving your
future travel needs.

Sincerely,

Priceline Customer Service

Of course, I immediately called and after being on hold for about 10 minutes, I spoke to Tabitha and told her that I had received an e-mail saying I would be eligible for a cancellation. She pretty much read back the entire e-mail to me and said that she could take care of that.

She cancelled my reservation(s) -- I had booked two rooms -- and said I would be issued a refund in the exact amount I had paid for the two rooms and said I should receive it in 10-15 days.

So inspite of the huge hassle this has been -- PriceLine is now once again, my friend. :cheer2:

I hope if there are any others out there who had booked Nikki Bird and don't think they're going to be happy with the "new management" that you'll go ahead and start the process rolling.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped me. princess:

I received the same E-mail today.. subject Urgent...I took care of this on my own a while ago. I'm glad they stepped up to the plate.

I think we should thank the OP who gave us a heads up about this originally and got us all on the phone!

DO NOT CLICK on aussiboy's link for more info

it is a hoax site

Thanks Mods for removing all of aussiboys posts so quickly!!! :cheer2:

I got the "email" from them stating the problem with housekeeping being once a week and I had the option to cancel, so I called and they said it could take 10-15 days to receive my refund. But I'm so glad its cancelled!

Sounds like another location that they recently took over that used to be a Travelodge

Good for you, Disney Freak56. Your post made me think of the commercial in which credit card agents are trained to refuse rewards. Just say NO! I think the Priceline agents must be trained that way. My goodness.

I think you're right, Kay. :goodvibes

Thanks so much for making the rest of us aware of the change in ownership of this hotel.

I guess it just goes to show one, if you don't succeed the first time, just keep on trying as other posters have stated. And if you complain long enough, maybe they'll finally do something and it doesn't hurt that others are complaining right along with you. :bounce:

My refund posted to my account on June 2 -- two business days -- just an FYI for those who are waiting for a refund. princess:

We were seriously considering staying here for our upcoming trip. I'm so glad we decided to book a condo from an owner! I just hope the condo is up to par!

We liked the hotel.
