Nightmare Before Christmas 3D

I seemed to be able to notice the 3-D effect throughout the entire movie, but after a while you get kind of used to it, so for me certian parts looked more 3D than others. Everyone is different though. It just makes the movie look way better, in my opinion.

I haven't seen any other 3D movies, but it looks much better than the 3D things you watch with the paper glasses that are blue and red.

I saw it last year and, unlike others, I was actually disappointed.

Now, don't get me wrong. It's a great movie and it still is in the 3-D, however, be prepared for a lack of "3-D-ness." The 3-D adds depth to the film (some things definitely appear closer than others, snow falling appears to be "outside of the screen"), but there is very little "popping out at you" like most of us theme park enthusiasts would be accustomed to.

The 3-D projectors (which are super-expensive, hence the increased ticket price) provide a great digital presentation with a crystal clear picture.

Despite my misgivings, I'd definitely go see it, but just be prepared that it's not Mickey's Philharmagic 3-D here.

I think my almost 4-year-old is just going to be thrilled to see it at the movies.

I should have merged this with the other NBC-3D thread I just moved.

:(

My kids & I are going to go see it at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. My dd is a HUGE fan, of the soundtrack, too, so we're going to the 11:30pm show when they'll put the words on the screen and we can sing along. :)

We went to see it (yesterday) Saturday. The depth was very good, and I really like the music in the movie. The 3D effects were certainly not like "Disney theme park" but we all really enjoyed it. My grandkids sat thru it without getting bored, and they kept their glasses on thru the movie. Glad I went.

(there was a preview before the movie showing a new 3D movie coming out in 2008, March maybe? - anyhow it is an action movie with Brandon Frasier - now that looks like it is going to have some cool effects!)
-mary (off to the airport now to Disney See ya! :yay: )

Saw it yesterday w/DD and loved it...the glasses were plastic. Loved the music. I had to shush DD several times.

I was really thrilled to see one of my favorite films on the big screen again! So much detail I miss when watching on a TV. Also nice to hear the soundtrack in all it's glory.

No, the 3D isn't shocking, stunt type 3D stuff, as this film was not meant to be a 3D film. But it is very crisp and clear and just a fun way to get this film out and let more people see it (and us uber-fans see it again).

It cost $18.50 for DD and I to see it at a matinee, and it was still worth it.
I had a smile on my face the entire film! I had to try real hard not to sing along out loud. :)

What is as good as Mickey's Philharmagic? Not much by my standard! The three screens, the sights, the smells, Donalds rear end poking out of the wall in the back of the theatre at the end! That is an instant Classic!

:hippie:
