Do you think we should afford going to MK on the days when night of joy is on in the evening?

Keep in mind that if you do, the park will close early. If you do not have hopper tickets, you won't be able to go to a different park afterwards.

I would not go to the MK on a day when they were going to have Night of Joy-- they start letting these guests in early and they are not the nicest of guests-- as a former CM we always had more problems on Night of Joy than other day in the year. As the day goes on, it gets worse...so maybe for the morning, but get out of there by the afternoon, and as the previous poster said they close early on that day as well...very early if I remember correctly...in addition they need the Castle Stage for that night so there will not be any Castle shows.

Hey, I take offense to that.

Forgot about the stage set up, that's right, there wouldn't be any shows there that day.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to try and change my itinerary so i'm not in MK on the night of joy days. Does anymore else have trouble placing Magic kingdom in there itinerary? I'm sure there are more days to avoid going to MK for different reasons than any other park.

Please elaborate on this statement

Also, as a former CM, you may know this. Can you let me know the answer to the following questions:

What attractions/rides are open?

Do you need your ticket plus park passes to get in?

If you do not need park passes, What time can you get into MK? Is it the same as MVMCP, which is 4:00PM

Thanks

I worked there a very long time ago-- almost 6 years now, so things might have changed, but when I was there, almost all of the attractions were open. A few of the smaller ones might have been closed like Tiki Birds and Country Bears, but for the most part it was the whole park that was open. In terms of food though, they only opened a few of the fast food places. I believe the buses from all around started arriving and when there got to be too many busses and people waiting, they would let them in (and if I remember they would enter them in the back through Tomorrowland). So I think it was a amount of people issue not a time issue. And it is or was a hard ticket event so they did not have to have park passes.

We will be going to MK on Sat., Sept. 9. We plan on having breakfast at CP at 8, doing what we want and getting out of there by 2 at the very latest. From what I read on the WDW website, MK closes at 6 and Night of Joy begins at 7:30. I am hoping that, since MK closes so early, everyone will avoid it. That way everything we want to do should be walk-ons that early. ihopeihopeihope!
