I understand there is somewhat of a dress code for certain restaurants, men should wear slacks and a collared shirt. For women, a nice pair of pants and is a casual shirt ok or should it be rather dressy? We'll be going to Citricos & Yachtsman.

We'll also be going to the Brown Derby but since we'll be at MGM that day, we weren't planning on taking the time to go back to the hotel to change. We ate there before with no problem after spending the day in the park & we probably had on shorts & t-shirts. That was 3 years ago, have things changed since then, will we be turned away in our shorts? Or will I have to bring slacks, rent a locker & change beforehand?

I believe that even the Signature Restaurants have recently relaxed their dress codes a bit to allow shorts and T-shirts. Used to be that it had to be a bit more dressy but I think they were running into the problem of people going there from the parks. I still think that tank tops, cutoffs, and flip flops are a no-no.

At the Yachtman I wore a pair of Liz Claiborne shorts with a matching short sleeve sweater and no one looked at me weird :scared1:

We were told men must where a collared shirt. A polo/golf shirt will do the trick and he wore dressy shorts. He was fine at California Grill.

While the in-park restaurants have no dress codes, a number of the finer restaurants at the Walt Disney Resort hotels do. Disney’s “Signature” restaurants at their on-property resort hotels all have either a Business Casual or Formal Dress Code. See the chart below for a list of the specific restaurants with requirements on attire.

The guidelines for each dress code are as follows:

Business Casual Dress Code

Attire considered appropriate by this dress code is:
• Dress shorts
• Dress pants
• Jean pants
• Collared shirts
• Blouses
• Sweaters
• T-shirts

Please Note; On July 1, 2007, Disney changed the dress code policy to include T-shirts.

Attire not permitted by this dress code is:
• Hats
• Swimsuits
• Swimsuit cover-up's
• Tank tops
• Torn clothing
• Flip-flops
