We are celebrating our 20th anniv. in May and were thinking of taking a 4 night trip to Bermuda. We will be leaving DD w/ parents. I have no idea where to start looking. We want something all inclusive. Any help or recommendations would be great. Thanks, Kim

HI there,

I would highly recommend Elbow Beach Hotel or the Hamilton Princess.

Have fun and congratulations on you wedding anniversary!

Some 30 years ago, I stayed at a hotel with my parents that was amazing. I know that is a long time ago but I think it still has a great reputation. The only nix to it, it is not on the beach. It is high on a hill and you can see the water. Plus, it has a beautiful golf course. It is/was called Horizons.

I think the Harmony Club (adults only) is on the beach and is supposed to be pretty incredible. I am pretty sure that it is the hotel owned by Michael Douglas.

Bermuda is lovely. An all inclusive doesn't encourage guests to get out and about. I believe that the Princess Hotels have a plan that can include breakfast and dinner. We stayed at the South Hampton Princess which was really a grand old hotel, as is the Hamilton Princess which is in Hamilton. There is public transportation into Hamilton so renting a car is not necessary.

I'm pretty sure that there are very few (if any) "all-inclusive" resorts in Bermuda. There are a number of resorts that offer an "American Plan" or "Modified American Plan," which will include three meals a day or breakfast and dinner, respectively.

Grotto Bay does have an all-inclusive option and there may be a few others. The nicest beaches, IMO, are along the south coastline. Check out the Fairmount Southhampton (formerly the Southampton Princess), which is very nice (if pricey), if a beach vacation is your preference. "Cottage Colonies," like Cambridge Beaches or Ariel Sands, are uniquely Bermudian and some are very nice. Here's a link to a Fodor's article on Cottage Colonies.

DawnCt1 is ABSOLUTELY right the South Hampton Princess a bit further out from Downtown and THAT is the one I wanted to highlight to your attention my best friend worked at the Hamilton location for awhile. Both are great but the SouthHampton Princess has great access to gold club as well as the beach.

Lots of restuarants in Bermuda...it is wonderful there!

Be prepared to spend lots:)

Just a quick clarification to make your search easier. Both Princess hotels (Southampton and Hamilton) have been converted to Fairmont hotels and don't have the Princess name attached anymore.

gotta say...you guys are the best!!! I can't believe all this info in such little time. Thanks to all of you, I will start research tonite.

Okay, I got mixed up. Ariel Sands is Michael Douglas's hotel. That article from Fodor has an excellent rundown on accomodations.

Happy Anniversary! I have stayed at the Sonesta twice, which was nice, but the last time there, DH and I wandered next door to the Reefs, and found heaven on earth. That is where we are staying next time! See for yourself...

That's true but as the saying goes, "a rose by any other name is still a rose".

I would recommend Elbow or Sonesta if you want a beach on property, or Southampton Princess if you don't mind taking a shuttle across the road for the beach. Hamilton Princess is a very nice hotel right in town but it tends to be a little business-traveller oriented.

If you want to have an absolutely outstanding meal on your trip, I would recommend Waterlot Inn, which is walkable from Southampton Princess, or Tom Moores Tavern, which is a taxi ride but well worth it.

I've heard wonderful things about Elbow Beach...
