My Kenny and I are going to WDW in June 9-12 for our 5th anniversary. :lovestruc On the 10th, we have an open day till that nite when we go to MK for EMH and to eat at CP.

Where should we eat breaky? I've looked at several places and can't decide. We want to eat at somewhere not in a park since we don't know where we will go. I want to try places we have never been before. We are not on the DDP. Kenny loves smoothies and also crab. I love a good coffee, waffles, and sausage.

Here are the choices I'm looking at:

Fresh...this looks the most like what my hubby would like. It even has a Japanese breakfast! (He's half-Japanese)
Boma
Grand Floridian Cafe
The Wave
Cape May
Ohana
Kona

Any suggestions? I want to make this special for my guy....he's a good, hard-working man.

My vote is for Kona, and while at dinner time it is a bit chaotic, a little later breakfast is calm and relaxing and ask for a corner if you need romantic.

If you like sweet things for breakfast, I'd go with Kona. Everybody should try Tonga Toast at least once;) I like the pineapple macadamia pancakes myself. They also have excellent coffee. My other top pick would be the GF Cafe. Their lobster eggs benedict is to die for:lovestruc I can't give an opinion about Fresh...I've never been. But I will say that I've never had a bad meal at the Swan or Dolphin. I don't really know how Fresh compares to the other restaurants though. It's never really mentioned on the boards.

Kona.
Fresh is very good, but it is a buffet. Most everything is prepared--well--fresh! Meaning there can often be a line at the waffle, pancake, or omlette stations.

Ok. I looked at the menus for Kona and GFC and decided.........

Grand Floridian Cafe it is. There's lots of dishes we both would like. Yum.....can't wait to try the coffee and Mickey waffles! :cool1: Kenny will love the smoothies!

Thx everybody!

I'm sure you will enjoy Grand Floridian cafe, it has a nice, calm atmosphere and the food is very good.

I think GF Cafe is one of this over looked at dining spots. We really enjoyed our dinner there a few years ago. Very pleasantly surprised and would really like to try breakfast. Think it would be a great choice for a later start at MK

Boma's for breakfast is our very favorite place to eat any meal. We always have breakfast there the day we have to go back home so that we at least have that to look forward to. Not necessarily romantic but the staff is attentive, and the breakfast buffet has a wide variety of American and African- inspired breakfast foods.

Not on your list, but I would suggest Kouzzina at the Boardwalk. Very unique and very good. Love the blueberry orange granola pancakes and their turkey hash.

plutolovr,

Funny you should say that! We have a ressie at Kouzzina for the morning we leave at 9:15 a.m  I have wanted to try this for so long and I'm not backing out.

Kona's #1 to us for breakfast and great steak but in November was not buffet. Cape May has good crab legs. Boma's nice as well as the others you have picked. Fultons in DTD is $$$ but wonderful:surfweb:

Glad to hear that. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. :thumbsup2

We had a real nice breakfast at Boma for our anniversary. We had a nice window table, and when the manager saw our anniversary buttons, she brought us a nice complimentary "dessert" (dessert at breakfast?)-

The only problem was that DH isn't a chocoholic, especially at breakfast, but he didn't wan't to offend the manager because it was such a nice thought. But fortunately, I love chocolate anytime!

Also ate at Kouzzina's for breakfast last December, and enjoyed it very much. The Granola Pancakes were very good, and HUGE!!
