My first ever post on DISboards!! We have reservations on Sunday, October 2 at Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. We want to see the Panthers/Bears game at 1 p.m. I know about the ESPN club, but we will have our 3 and 9 year old daughters with us. I'm looking for somewhere a little quieter. Can you request certain games at the lounges at the Beach Club or Yacht Club. I think they have games on? Thank you for your help!

Probably speaking way out of knowledge here..but I'd see if the pool bar has a television. Take the kids to the pool and watch the game from the bar, which is right beside the water.

Just trying to think of things that would satisfy all parties!!

YC/BC does not have tv at the pool bar -- but it has a bar with one tv (on regular Disney cable, not satellite tv)...YC Crew's Cup, just around the corner from Captain's Grille. But, the choice of games is probably going to be a "discussion" between you and the other guests, if that game is even on local Florida network tv. The bar is small, but is suitable for kids -- booths and such. Quiet, pleasant.

BC bar, Martha's Vineyard, usually opens later in the day -- although maybe an exception for Sunday, because of football?:confused3

Hurricane Hanna's operates as a pool bar - but has no television.

Your best bet is to be at Martha's Vineyard or Crew's Cup (assuming they have televisions - I'm not completely sure) early enough to request the game you want to see. If someone else has already requested a different game, I don't think they'll change to yours. Truth is, I'm not even sure the lounges will be open that early.

Where are you staying and is your ADR at Captains grill for lunch? The reason I ask is most of the time the quietest place to watch a game is your hotel room. Also will this game even be shown for the Orlando local market? I would think the ESPN Club would be the only place that gets the Total NFL Package and the rooms and bars would just have the same local TV channels as the hotel room.

I think the bigger issue is what the 3 and 9 year will be doing while you and your spouse watch the game. I could imagine the 9 year may be into the game but I think you are going to have to entertain your 3 year old for 3+ hours that's why I'm suggesting the hotel room and your own pool.

The only way this will happen is if they are staying at the Yacht or Beach Club since only guests of those two resorts are allowed to swim at the pool. Even DVCers don't get to pool hop to Storm a Long Bay.

I would think that ESPN club is really your only option unless you can get off site. Looking at the schedule I would think the chances are very slim that the Chi Vs. Car game would be on the TV. Jacksonville is playing at the same time and channel so I assume they will be on and if they arent the national game will prob be Detriot Vs. Dallas.

I stayed at POFQ 2 years ago and the pool bar had a tv there and it had some games on it. I can't speak for the yacht club. Joe

I think the bigger issue now is if it will even be on Local Orlando TV.

So yes they have TV's but without the Total Package will only be showing whatever FOX or CBS is showing.

I agree that you will probably need to go to a place, like ESPN Club, that will have the NFL package. If Miami, Tampa or Jacksonville is playing there's no way it will be on local TV.

We are going to ESPN Club this Sunday for Bills/Patriots. Lots of people from the North in WDW but I don't expect to be able to watch it anywhere else. Everything I have read says to get there at least an hour ahead of time to get a seat.

If you have a car you may want to consider Buffalo Wild Wings in the Crossroads shopping center or Orlanda Ale House also off Rte 535. I haven't been to either but they would definitely have the NFL package and might be less crowded than the ESPN club.
