Next SW release watch???

okay, call me weird, but, i actually wrote on my calendar last year when they released summer airfare....it was Thurs. Feb. 17th around 2:10pm (est)....so, that was a Thurs...I'm counting on it again this week....... (fingers crossed)

Quick question...
When they do release the new dates, do they release them all at once? Or do they release them in batches?

They release a couple months at a time. This time last year, they released mid June to the beginning of August (3rd I think it was!). They don't release the whole year (dunno why )...but I'm guessing they will release till sometime early to mid August on Thursday or Friday (my bet is Thurs cuz the past 2 years I've bought on day of release and they were Thursdays). Weird system that I don't understand?

Check Thursday too....it was a Thursday the past 2 years they released, not a Friday.

Add me to the list of those from PA who are checking constantly for great rates out of BWI or PHL. Dates are flexible which hopefully will make it easier to book a good rate. Let the DINGING begin!

They usually start at the $79 oneway rate and go up from there. If you go to SW's site, you can see how they sell tickets...cheapest to more expensive. Occassionally, they have "sales"...sometimes $69 oneway (which we got for next weekend) and I've even seen $59 and, $49 and $39 one way...depends where you're going and how empty the planes are that they advertised those deals.

I am a little nervous about this....My wife and parents and my 2 boys 5 and 9 are going to El paso in late July....My wife has never flown neither have my kids and I am worried about not being able to sit with them....My parents are handicapped will they let me board with them early....plus someone is gonna have to deal with my petrified wife.....I have been reading alot of the posts about the seating just a bit worried

If your parents need assistance, you should be able to talk to a SW agent and get a preboard ticket. Also, if your son is 4 or under, you should also be able to preboard for him...so, you help your folks, your wife can preboard w/ your son and you'll all be able to sit together.....should work out fine for you. If they give you a hard time, which I really doubt they will, tell them this is the first time your wife is flying and the first time you are trying SW because you've heard such wonderful things about them! I don't think you'll have any problems sitting together.....

Hey everyone missy and family here.Well i have been patiently waiting for swa to go past june 9th.my family and i our going down on june 25th thru july 1st and are hoping for a resonable airfare we got shut out around the hoildays paid about $400 a person and was not happy about it.so i am hpoing to catch swa when they finally release past june 9th which hopefully will be in this lifetime.Well lets hope it's today everyone let's keep our fingers crossed. Just got a Ding that ends at 3:45 CST today.....I just don't recall seeing one before that ends at a time other than on the hour or on the half hour.
Perhaps the new schedule will be released at the end of that sale....4PM CST???
Or perhaps I've just resorted to imagining scenarios "that must mean" the schedule is about to open! LOL!
