^^ That's what I thought. But I wasn't sure and too lazy to look it up. LOL.

My point was... the purpose of TNFNS is to find a personality to be on TV. You can be the most amazing cook in the world and if you don't have that charisma, it won't work. There are plenty of people who can cook, but would never be able to do a TV show.

I agree and I said I watch TNFNS.

Honestly, I don't know all their names yet. My brain isn't remembering stuff so well lately so I have to make up stuff I can remember. The Flamer is very entertaining, but I doubt he would win.

Thats soo funny. My girlfriend works for Comcast. And she told me that Bravo Top Chef was first and Foodnetwork took their format. For years I thought TC came first. I just took her word for it. Shame on me.

Well, really, Hell's Kitchen came first - in Great Britain. The US version didn't air until May 2005.

To me it doesn't really matter which came first because Top Chef is for chefs with more experience then what you see on either Hell's Kitchen of the Next Food Network Star - at least in my opinion. There are things I love about all 3 of those shows.

Good point, and I think that's why I like Next FN Star. I don't like the kind of food they cook on Top Chef, but most of the NFNS wanna bes cook regular food. I admire the chefs on TC for being able to come up with that awesome food like that, but I can't ever imagine eating it. But that egg dish that the mom made on NFNS or the steak? I'd eat either one in a minute.

^^ Yes, very true!!! And the reason I really like TNFNS is because I have a vested interest in who wins. I'm going to be watching their show (maybe)! TC is cool, but the likelihood that I'm going to have any interaction with the winner is less than slim, so I'm kinda "meh" about the whole show.

Your sweet. I didn't think you were snotty . I was sorry that I was wrong about who came first. I think the chefs on TC and the challenges are more difficult but I probably wouldn't eat the food. I'm not a fois gras eater But some of the NFNS dishes are more to my palate.

just my 2 cents, but I'd say he's givng the straight forward/blunt advice that these people should have been getting the first two episodes.... rather than giving the 'painful' grin and waiting until they've left the room to tear them a new one, he's giving it to them to their face so they can either make the necessary changes or be on the next plane home.

It's not the advice as much as the delivery. 'Course, it could also be the editing. I normally find him to be very straightforward, but also very engaging.

I'm amazed that Debbie could even begin to question anyone's integrity. Floored. Absolutely floored.

I ♥ Jeffrey. Can't say that enough. Not only does he have a good screen presence, but I like how he tried to help Michael instead of trying to throw him under the bus. He seems like a stand-up guy and he's really easy to watch.

Tonight, Teddy does the same exact thing and DEBBIE of all people calls him out on it.

I know what you mean but I can't help but really like her food.
