Next DVC resort?

I think as a non-drinker, I probably just notice those who are drunk or tipsy more easily. And again, as a non-drinker, I probably find it more irritating than most. I don't have a problem with adults having a drink or two on their vacations or park visits. I might be inclined to have a drink once in a while if I could (can't because of mediation I take.) But is it really the place to get drunk or tipsy? For me....nah. Of course, I'm also that person who, outside of college years, has never understood the drinking culture where I live. People here seem to need a drink if their hand at all times (evenings, weekends, kids birthday parties, trick-or-treating, etc.) It's just different than how I grew up, I guess.

I’m with you - this villains obsession by theme park adults feels like a trend. It’s bad enough we’re getting a theme park land based off of a trend (started by Universal by the way) and Disney would be way overdoing it with a “villains” hotel adjacent to the Magic Kingdom of all parks. Magic Kingdom is supposed to be the quintessential family theme park, not yet another adult hangout spot. Not that adults shouldn’t hang out at MK, it just shouldn’t target them.
I'm not sure this is only a recent trend. Disney fans (kids included) have been villain obsessed for a long time. There have been fifth gate "Tragic Kingdom" rumors and fan art for as long as I can remember. Club Villain was popular a decade ago. The first Descendants movie (100% for kids) also came out a decade ago. It's hard to meet villains when everything is happy and cheerful.
Yeah, I'm fairly sure the popularity of The Descendants (5 movies now?) and all of the merch associated with them has been a big contributor. It fills a hole in the opportunities to market both new movie merch and stuff featuring the OG animated villains in a very convenient package. But I think a lot of this is driven by the tween Descendants market.

Just my $0.02, but I have never seen anyone hammered at Epcot. I'm sure it happens, but I don't know that it is ALWAYS happening, either.

And I agree with @BrianNoble, it costs a fortune to get a buzz on, let alone really drunk. Also, I keep reading/seeing news stories how the younger generations are NOT into alcohol, doing sober/dry January, etc. I'm Gen X, so still the generation where you wore your war tales with pride, but our kids are Alpha, and I work with Gen Z. They are not into drinking at all, at least from what I can see.
I have absolutely seen people too drunk to stand/walk at EPCOT (including last Feb in the backside of Great Britian - hello to the young lady who almost puked all over my kids 😵‍💫).

The worst are the frat guy groups that roam around world showcase during college breaks. It isn't that they get overwhelmingly drunk, it's the entitlement and obnoxious bro-dude behavior that really ruins a night for me.

Spot on - although there are people who visibly drink way too much, it’s more just the crowd that the booze festival scene attracts. The alcohol fueled loud & obnoxious 20 and early 30 somethings these events attract are the vibe killer.

It remains to be seen if Gen Z etc will pick up alcohol later in life or if alcohol is a generational thing and will largely end with the Millennials. I recently made the decision to be sober as a millennial and I am hopeful for the next generation. It's much easier to never start than it is to stop.
