Next DVC Properties

What will be the next DVC properties to open or break ground? I am not really interested in Saratoga Springs but maybe in the future someplace else - Can you still purchase Boardwalk and Beach Club thru Disney and how many years can you buy at this point?

All DVC resorts may be purchased thru Disney directly (and also thru resale) - but you may need to specifically ask about a resort besides SSR it that's what you'd really like.

At this time, no announcements have been made regarding the next DVC resort. Many expect an announcement soon though.

Can you still purchase Boardwalk and Beach Club thru Disney and how many years can you buy at this point?

By "how many years" I assume you are asking about when contracts expire. Contracts for resorts other than SSR expire on Jan 31, 2042. SSR contracts expire on Jan 31, 2054. Minimum purchase when buying a new contract directly from Disney is 150 points.

Actually two CM's at Saratoga Springs told us that the garden wings at the Contemporary are going to be the next DVC. One has been working within a DVC resort since 1994. Again this is only a rumor but it was told to us like it was a fact. They definitely said that it was not the Animal Kingdom. When we asked someone at the DVC reception center they just said they could not say Yes or NO. We were there August 27.

As doc said, currently the only "new" resort on sale is SSR. Nothing else has been officially announced.

That being said, there are strong rumors that the Contemp will be the next site for DVC (specifically, where the North Garden Wing now stands). There are equally strong rumors about DVC at the Animal Kingdome Lodge. You can find, through a quick browse of the boards, much more info on those two rumors (PM me if you need pointing in the right direction). We may get one, the other, both, or neither.

The current thinking, given what we know, is that an announcement is probably coming soon (October-ish, either at the press junket on Oct 1st or during the member cruise), but that, too, is a rumor.
