I don't understand the layout. Is World Drive moving, or are they installing a bridge we'd have to walk over to get to Star Wars Land?
No and no. There will be major road improvements surrounding the parks though. Parking expansions are also coming.

They are moving the entrance from World Dr / Osceola Parkway to Victory Ln by Osceola Parkway. New entrance, new toll booth. Its not a pedestrian bridge.

So can someone explain where Star Wars Land is going. I'm sorry but that diagram is beyond confusing for me... lol

No one knows for sure yet.

It was originally thought it would go to the west of Star Tours (DHS-2 area on the map), then it was thought it would go to the north of Star Tours (upper section of DHS-3). The most recent rumor is that it will go south of Star Tours (lower section of DHS-3).

Thank you for making this foolproof. :D

I'd love to see a few pedestrian bridges and walkways connecting HS to AoA. I don't think you can easily walk between the two right now.

Pretty sure you can not walk at all. At least not legally. It would definitely be nice and something I personally would do. But I doubt they give a value resort the ability to walk to parks. Caribbean Beach would be nice to walk to Epcot too

Im glad that they plan to be making ground soon. I thought they would be sitting on the announcement for another year before doing anything.

Well Disney announced construction for Star Wars would begin in 2016 and it's obvious infrastructure work needs to happen before that. Toy story is also expected to open much sooner than Star Wars so that would mean construction has to start relatively soon.

From what I have found on the permits and reading on wdwmagic.

Toy Story construction should start very soon. While work is going on for that they will prepare wetlands for future work.

The yellow section is currently forest area but will not be that very soon, where they will be clearing, grubbing, and filling existing wetlands, ditches, and storm water ponds.

The areas marked W12.22 and W12.2A will become parking areas.

This work permit is scheduled for start in January 2016 and completion in October 2018. This does not of course mean everything will be done by October 2018 only things specified in the permit.

Nothing in the permits mentions parking garages but doesn't rule them out either. Martin Smith says he was told two low level garages are coming but its not "gospel".

Okay, can you or anyone else point me to where W12.22 and W12.2A are located on the map? I see several W12.XX-type of labels, but none seem to be .22 or .2A. Then again, the plans are rather blurry.

Talk about a ride concept destined to become dated really soon. Maybe it'll be a ride easy to replace or with interchangeable features.

Jimmy Fallon attraction confirmed for universal Orlando. Opening in 2017, Twister closes November 2, 2015.

If you look at the author of this article it is Jason Surrell former Imagineer. He is also working on Kong along with two other former imagineers according to Jim Hill.
2017 is gearing up to be a big year in the Orlando theme park market...

On Disney you have Toy Story Land and Avatar preparing to launch.

Universal has Volcano Bay, Jimmy Fallon, and Fast and Furious.

I am curious to know what effect, if any, China will have on Universal's Orlando investments. Disney's investments dropped like a rock as Shanghai spending revved up. Now Disney is finishing up their Shanghai work, and are preparing to dump big money into WDW and Disneyland which have been their growth drivers. Universal has been pouring the cash into their Orlando parks is only now starting their China park, not to mention their extremely aggressive Japanese upgrade plan they're beginning. I wonder if they're going to pull up for a while.

This does seem like a really bad time to stop their big projects though. Disney is starting to get serious on both coasts with 6 themed lands openeing between the two coasts. It'll be interesting to watch.

It'll also be interesting to watch as they're really catching onto this fad of IP themed lands.
