Stop and think about this for a moment. At $44.9 Million, Uncle Bob could afford to gift 4,878 families a seven night package featuring a stay at the Wilderness Lodge in a standard club level room with day park hopper tickets, and the Disney Dining Plan (Retail Value $9,204). Santa, for Christmas would you please see if you and Uncle Bob can work it out for our family to be one of those 4,878 families? After Star Wars cash rolls in he will probably be able to do this for over 6,000 families next year.

I have a few friends at the parks right now. They're saying the crowds are much lower than previous Christmas seasons. This a way to fill a few more rooms? Didn't meet projections?
We just returned today from a 5 day stay. Crowds were huge over the weekend, but they were definitely lower the past two days. We even commented on how uncrowded it seemed for Christmas week. We are actually going back on the 28-31 to take my mom to see the Osborne Lights and Candlelight Processional. We are staying at All Star Sports. I will be interested to see if we get this offer for the additional night.

It's interesting because there haven't been any phase closures yet.

We were there early to mid last week and it really wasn't too bad. The DHS parking lot was closed a few times early in the week and the Osborne Lights was pretty miserable as far as crowds go the night we went. MVMCP was also pretty crowded but otherwise it was pretty manageable.

Your description seems to be accurate most days/times of the year.

They have been successful in balancing out there crowds most of the year.

I think that is mostly reflective of the hotel inventory...DVC fills, the rack rooms that sell are always sold, the empty ones (wilderness lodge, ak lodge, upper end) that have outpriced themselves remain unsold and are reflective of the outside market in many ways...

The victory of "the bands" I suppose...

Resulting in longer average waits and booking unavailibility across the board I would guess...meaning frustrations and the need for more attractions That many...ummm...predicted for a long time.

I'm just postulating...but don't be surprised if that's what they are tracking in the data mine.

That's what everyone is saying, it's crowded for sure, but noticeably less than previous Christmas trips. Happy for people who get to experience this week without the miserable crowds.

Disneyland Paris continues its update work. It looks like they're really doing great work and taking it seriously. A new show is coming, but more interestingly a new RFID payment and Key system is coming to DLP in 2016/2017.

Appetently not with Magic Bands, but just a card instead. It'll be interesting to watch how much hardware goes out there. DLP should be in great shape shortly.
They are really doing some amazing things there.

It really pays to get the right people in place to get these things done.

I can't wait to see the final product and what more they are going to do.

I wish they'd announced a new ride for DLP's 25th, but I guess they are doing enough by fixing all the stuff that has been neglected for so many years prior to Disney becoming the primary owner.

I think the new stuff will come after the 25th. Their top priority is to get things in working and show condition. The place was neglected for so long.

I know news today and tomorrow will be sparse so I wanted to take this time to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

To start 2016 we will be starting a new News Round up thread as well!
Definitely thankful for all the work you do for this thread and everyone else here. Makes it so much easier to skim through on a daily basis to find all the news then to search for it all over the DIS.

Merry Christmas and happy new years to everyone

Merry Christmas to all of you - and Happy New Year!

Ryan, thank you for all the time and effort that you put into this thread. It's great to see the new stuff, even if we sometimes get a little off track. Will you put a link in this thread when you start up a new one?

Yes I will. I figured it's time we start a new thread for the new year as this one is well over 400 pages and a bit cluttered.
