News Round Up

I'm going to throw this out there. It looks like a new frozen offering will come to DHS this Christmas including snow. Then Martin at wdwmagic said MK Christmas offerings are looking to be better than ever this year except he can't reveal any details on what is coming yet.

I don't think that gives much of an idea what this ride will be like. It won't be the old "lean to the left" ride, which admittedly was pretty lousy, but how will this diferentiate from Mater's roundup.

Interesting that our first trip to DLR in 2012 was very shortly after Carsland opened. This time, we'll be there (likely) right after this ride re-opens. Really, someone might think we're obsessed with Carsland!

Hopefully this is a affirmation for the rumored return of the Country Bear Christmas show.

I also wish that MK would get the Small World and Haunted Mansion overlays, but those seem unlikely.

Extremely. HM closes down for 4-6 weeks TWICE to do that. They would have a lot of pissed off tourists at WDW. Your best bet is just go out to DLR instead one year to see them.

This is supposed to be a trackless Aquatopia type attraction.

btw, it does seem like you are obsessed with Carsland or maybe I am just jealous and want to see it for the first time.

Well Small world at DLR is out in the open and it works well there. At MK small world is covered and in a bottlenecked area.

Exactly, WDW had a hard enough time getting Pirates down for 3.5 months for maintenance that should've never gotten to that point.

Believe me, I understand the limitations on HM. I don't have a sense of DL IASW, but I appreciate the perspective. On both counts, I'd love to experience in WDW but fully understand the odds are against it.

Someday I definitely want to check out DL, and other properties. Just never seem to get around to it.

I just saw it myself for the first time last week. I wanted to know if it was worth all the buzz. It is. The theming is some of the best I've seen. Hopefully you get to see it soon!

Well, that was a vague description of the new ride. From what we know, I'm guessing it's going to be a bunch of cars spinning and moving around each other in a trackless system. Regardless, I hope it's better than the previous ride. It was nostalgic for those who rode the flying saucers back in the day. For the rest of us it wasn't too exciting.

I will say this - Carsland and World Of Color make it worth skipping a WDW trip one year to go out there. The bonus is Disneyland, which is amazing as well. It really isn't that much more expensive than WDW, in fact you can stay pretty cheap at a hotel off Harbor Blvd and have very easy access to the parks. You don't really need more than 3-4 days, but combine it with a few days in Hollywood and it's quite a fun weeks vacation.
