Disney Skyliner closing for refurbishment in early 2022

“The gondola transportation system will be closed January 23 through January 28 2022. Bus service and Friendship boat service will be available at the resorts served by Disney Skyliner.”
Wow, same week as last year! They should really pick a different one so that those who use the same dates don’t get impacted again. My Jan trip this year was a one-off made possible by telework (wow that weather was great!!) but this totally sucked when it affected 2 of my 4 park days when I was at Riviera.

Would that cruise terminal be closer to the Brightline train traveling between there and MCO than the main Miami cruise terminal is?

Ft. Lauderdale is north of Miami, so distance-wise, I would think so. But the draw should be having FLL airport being much closer to the cruise terminal. Especially considering the distance from MCO to Port Canaveral.

I was thinking about people who want to take a DCL cruise and add a WDW stay at either end. I've read that travel between the Brightline station in Miami and the Miami cruise terminal is not very convenient, so I was wondering whether proximity of the Broward Co. cruise terminal to the Brightline station (i.e., easier for guests to get from one to the other) might be part of Disney's motivation to sail from there. Of course, it could also be that Miami doesn't have room at its cruise terminal.

Where’s all the good news today? I thought the dancing was fantastic this morning 🤩🤞🏼🕺🏻💃🏻👯

430 news conference today for Orange County Florida- likely moving to stage 3 which is no restrictions.

we’re in May... so all things considered... July 4th at Disney is looking like it might be more normal than not:sunny: and the 50th in October? Think we’ll be partying like it’s 1999 thanks in part to all the dancing going on here

The GF is converting Big Pine Key (bldg #9) from hotel rooms to approximately 200 DVC studios which will be sold as part of the existing GFV condo association.
Well, that's a surprise! Maybe that will help offset the GF not selling rooms at the rate they were expecting. You ever notice that when someone has an issue and needs to change resorts, there are always rooms open at the GF?
I might actually think about trying out the rooms - we do Deluxe Studios all the time, as we have 4 in our family. So - this sounds great to me!
