can we just appreciate the TWO day notice for this?

Wonder if this is the kind of precedent they plan on setting. Two days isn’t enough time to throw a spontaneous trip together for most people (unless you WFH with no kids and big pocket book)

so maybe the two-five day thing is something we should expect as guidelines change. “Sorry, it was short notice”

I think short notice for easements of restrictions is ok. It’s not as if you need to pack extra to no longer wear masks during some outdoor pictures.

I think short notice is appropriate to avoid people trying to skirt the rules well in advance. And also, it’s either safe or it’s not. Disney can’t accurately project what they will deem safe 2 weeks from now, so they certainly would want to avoid rescinding any easement changes.

Does seem like a precedent being set. Maybe that going forward this year some things may change quickly; won’t always be the long advance notices we usually get from WDW. Nothing is set in stone for 2021 and changes can still happen even if your trip is in 2 months or only 2 weeks away.

It feels like we’re finally turning the big corner here in the US. Hope that is true and others won’t be far behind.

and of course, due to the small nature of the change they can roll it back quickly if it doesn't work out. Like that 4 people per dot rule that was seen on signs. Here and gone in a day or so.
So I agree. I think the short notice is ok here.

At some point we need to get back to normal - it's been a slow progression but it needs to happen. If you do not like the rules, then don't go. The science hasn't been a friend to keeping the mask mandates...if it makes you comfortable, wear the mask.

Significant closures: No Jungle Cruise, Buzz Lightyear, Matterhorn (both closed for refurb) Storybook Canal Boats, Finding Nemo Submarines, Explorer Canoes, Great Moments with Mr Lincoln, Sailing Ship Columbia, Tom Sawyer Island, Monorail, Launch Bay, Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough, Toontown buildings, Grizzly Peak River Run or Golden Zephyr, Redwood Creek & Animation Academy for those wanting a closed list of attractions 😀

California Governor Announces Plan and Target Date for Full Reopening

“In a press conference today, Governor Newsom announced that California is aiming for JUNE 15th to be California’s full reopening date, with things returning to “business as usual”, albeit with the continued use of masks. Newsom also announced that California will hopefully move beyond the colored tier system used for gauging the level of coronavirus cases across the state on the path to reopening.”

I’ve read several bigger sites posting about the new mask rules...

Good news. The articles are either a positive spin, or are neutral. No “Disney will cause a ton of deaths”. Hopefully this bodes well for further changes like capacity and fireworks this summer.

Disney to relax mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

“Specifically, the latest update beginning April 8 allows guest to remove masks when they are taking photos while socially distanced. Masks must be worn at all other times, in accordance with the original guidelines for the park's reopening back in July 2020. Exceptions include when dining or swimming, and while actively eating or drinking, but must be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing.”

Walt Disney World to Relax Face Mask Policy

I haven't been this happy in a long time! Is that sad?...

I was just checking the Disneyland website to see if I could find a list of attractions supposedly opening (am struggling to locate the full list 😀) but noticed that the pages for all of the Avengers Campus attractions, entertainment and dining are on the site, including the generic synopsis:
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure (of note, no height limit for the attraction 😀)
Sanctum Doctor Strange character encounter
Pym Test Kitchen Quick Service location
WEB Suppliers Shop
Avengers Headquarters A show taking place on the roofs of buildings, featuring:
Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel vs Taskmaster

This might be my favorite thread. It's like a Seinfeld episode. Goes on forever with no real conclusion.... Still watching....Still waiting.... I can't wait for it to open, but I'm afraid it will be like the little boy who cried 'wolf'....Maybe I won't take it seriously when it really IS open. Fingers crossed!

That’s for the closures list! I know that any ride that requires you to be inside longer than 15min isn’t allowed to open. Even if only a few rides were open though, I’m so excited to finally get back there. I’m bummed us Legacy Passholders aren’t getting any special days, but I am holding out hope they’ll announce a new program soon. In the meantime, I’ll totally be online trying to buy tickets & book reservations on the 15th!

I know that Avengers Campus is also going to be closed upon opening. I believe Chapek made that announcement? I think they are waiting until they can do a proper opening for the new area of DCA. I could see a little bit of it at Touch of Disney last week though.

And I noticed that Grizzly River Rapids was completely drained, so I’m guessing they’re doing some refurb on it?
