EVERY DAY
Agree .. I held off for that (I was on the fence anyway and wasn't going to see it in theatres probably). Some reports were that it faired better than expected. I do think Disney did themselves a disservice by announcing when it would be included in Disney+ outside of premier access. If they waited to announce that after it debuted I think it would’ve got some more purchases. I held off because of that. I’ll just wait until December at this point.
I think Mulan (the original) is a great movie. Not everything can be Lion King, Aladdin, or Beauty and the Beast. I'd also argue Tarzan was weaker for me. Many reviews have come back that this is one of the better remakes too.1) Trying this VOD "Premier" access with a remake of arguably the weakest movie from the Disney Renaissance period. Remake's (at least for me) are "wait for rental" type of movies. Been there, done that, don't need to pay to see it again in a different form. It's not even a kid's movie (which would have probably help it sell better).
Better Mulan OW rumor BO - it's a disaster, worse than Tenet financially for a same tent pole budget $200M movie...it's probably why Disney hasn't done anything with November movies yet...

"Mulan made a total of $35.5 million on its opening weekend from Disney+ subscribers.
Early numbers indicate that Mulan was watched by a total of 1.12 million households on its opening weekend."
I did say "arguably" the weakest.I think Mulan (the original) is a great movie. Not everything can be Lion King, Aladdin, or Beauty and the Beast. I'd also argue Tarzan was weaker for me. Many reviews have come back that this is one of the better remakes too.
Why do you think this estimate is more accurate than the $261M estimate @rteetz posted above? The 7Park Data numbers seem to have a little more meat behind them and the Disney CFO did say they were very happy with the results so I doubt very much that it's just $34M. As with most things, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
It looks to be just a matter of giving the performers in the some of the cavalcades their days off. Everyone is there on Saturdays. There's one cavalcade not performing every other day of the week.
I follow the movie industry and have for a few decades and am friends with insiders on a different movie board...none of them are giving the 7ParkData any credence...now, they aren't sure about the exactness of Screenrant, but they are almost certain Screenrant is in the OW ballpark and that the "less than $100M revenue" for the downloads total is also the "in the ballpark" number (for STRICTLY the downloads and not Disney playing with the numbers by adding annual and monthly membership buys at the same time, which many suspect they will do in November to make this look better than it was)...
I won't be paying for Mulan for multiple reasons, but I don't think it is doing as bad as some are suggesting on VOD. I am still seeing a ton of advertisement for it on the internet. I don't think it is a blockbuster for them, but if it was really bombing they would have pulled the vast amount of the films marketing budget at this point.
Aw man, I get back there on Nov 2, right after everything's gone!
