News Round Up 2020

I'm not sure if anyone else has posted these, but I thought it was interesting.
When you got to the annual pass sections of Disneyland and Disney World, they show which dates will require a reservation to get into the parks. I don't see availability of actually booking these reservations yet, but it's promising to see things going in that direction.

The part I found the most interesting is that although Disney World is showing a need for reservations basically every day for the next year, Disneyland only has the first full month blocked out and then after that has several weekdays listed as "good to go" where you won't need a reservation. Now, this was on the annual passport area. So, I'm not sure if those "good to go" days are true for everyone, or just for annual pass holders.

The Disneyland ones also varied the reservation required dates based on what level of annual pass you have

Hope this helps someone out there. I hadn't seen this information before and I found it pretty useful. We generally visit Disney World more often, but we're closer to Disneyland geographically and had wanted to make some quick stops over this summer.

Both of your links take me to the WDW site btw. Looks like we are getting closer though.

I did find the DL calendar though and that one doesn’t appear to be updated. I can’t imagine they would have “good to go” so quickly. They also have the existing flex pass which requires reservations.

They don't price match at all. I purchased a Cinderella castle from shop disney.com and later found the exact same thing for 45 dollars less at 3 different sites. As my order had already shipped, I contacted shopdisney customer service asking for a refund of the difference. I even provided proof of the lower price on 3 different sites, and shopdisney basically said tough. Deal with it. They don't price match and thats just how it is. The only option they gave me was to return it at my own expense once it arrived, but as it's a rather large and heavy item, it would cost me more to return it and get one of the cheaper ones so I'm just stuck. With the billions they have, one would think they could at least price match. Word of warning to any would be shopdisney shoppers, make sure you check other places and sites before purchasing from shopdisney, as it will likely save you some cash

The Disneyland link still isn’t working for me but the WDW one just shows the same blackout calendar those passes always have, they just replaced “good to go” with “reservation required”.

Someone on WDWMagic today also found the test page for making Disneyland reservations, posted about it, and it was down within the hour so I agree with @rteetz that we are close to go live.

I wouldn't read too much into this. They changed one phrase on the calendar which is pretty minor.

Though I agree that I don't know what they are waiting for to roll out the reservation system.

That DL link looks promising! Thanks for posting!

Is it usually only every other year like D23? Or have they already cancelled for 2021?
It’s been spotty as of sorts. Usually every other year but they went with 2019 and then announced a 2020 celebration. They’ve done overseas celebrations on off years too. So they never had a 2021 one announced and it sounds like there won’t be one in 2021 but possibly a larger Star Wars presence at D23.

You can return to a Disney store if you have one nearby, FYI. It also took shopdisney 90 days to process a return for me (mailed it back right as the lockdowns were starting).

If you can catch your delivery while they are dropping it off you can refuse the package and it will ship back to the sender at no cost to you.
