I wonder how this will work with international cell phones? In the past Disney wasn’t able to contact international cell phones.

Sorry for my lack of understanding but how does a push notification work? Is that different than a text? It's a push notification sent through MDE, which any international cell phone should be able to access via Disney's WiFi.
A push notification is an alert that pops up on your phone prompting you to “push” a button and do something.Sorry for my lack of understanding but how does a push notification work? Is that different than a text?
Even as late as last September we had to receive our room ready notification via email and were given a Disney buzzer each time we checked into a restaurant as they said their system could not (at least at that time) send notifications to cell phones that were from outside the US.
We’re Canadian and this has been our experience for multiple trips over the last few years since Disney started sending notifications to cell phones.
Notifications of our meals being ready for online ordering was spotty at times due to weak/no wifi signals in many locations.
Yes, it's different than a text. A push notification is typically a banner, vibration, or badge that appears on your phone when it is "pushed" from the app. Normally, it should act as if the MDE app were sending you a "message", and it would appear as a notification like one from Facebook Messenger/Snapchat/Instagram/etc. To receive it, you would need to:Sorry for my lack of understanding but how does a push notification work? Just FYI, they can actually text anywhere in North America. A Canadian phone number works to receive texts for room-ready, dining, and anything else. We’ve been giving them a Canadian phone number for at least two years. They just give you a different speech/system if you use the word “international” because they can only text 1- country codesSorry for my lack of understanding but how does a push notification work? Trying to visualize where this will be. Is another store closing or are they building something new?
I’m trying to think too. There may be a vacant spot I’m not thinking of either. It definitely isn’t a new build.Trying to visualize where this will be. Is another store closing or are they building something new?
ETA: or perhaps there is a vacant spot I'm not remembering!
The Dis article says across from Jock’s Hangae bar so that’s in the little strip of stores there. I believe one of those stores did close so that makes sense. I was thinking town center for some reason.I’m trying to think too. There may be a vacant spot I’m not thinking of either. It definitely isn’t a new build.

That location will mean our family will spend EVEN MORE time in that general location. We love Jock's, and my wife and son have a huge sweet tooth for baked goods. The Dis article says across from Jock’s Hangae bar so that’s in the little strip of stores there. Ah, I bet it is/was Erwin Pearl on the corner there across from Jock's and WBG. It still shows as a location on the Disney Springs website which confused me but several sources reported it was closing earlier this year: https://blogmickey.com/2019/12/erwin-pearl-closing-permanently-at-disney-springs-next-week/The Dis article says across from Jock’s Hangae bar so that’s in the little strip of stores there. How far is this from Homecomin? Making some plans for next year...![]()
Jock's is pretty close to Homecomin ... basically just have to walk around past Morimoto's ... so should be like a 5 minute walk if this place is across from Jock's
