News Round Up 2016

They are expanding them to other parks... they appear to be popular.

I'm REALLY disapointed this won out over the late night event. One, because it lesses the rope drop advantage and PPO ADRs on certain days, and Two, the evening event just seemed like a much better value and more appealing to me personally. But I know families with young kids do not like to stay out as late.

That's not what I've read. The articles and threads I've seen have said there is little to no effect on either of these. I'd prefer the evenings free on hard ticket events so there is still the option of park hours being extended.

When did this happen? Did it go down for refurb very recently? We were just on it Sunday, and I don't remember new seats or carpet. However, it was so hot, and we were just so glad to inside with AC, that I could have been sitting on dirt and probably not noticed:)
Must've been an overnight thing.
It was closed this past Monday-Thursday. Not only was new carpet and seats installed but Jon in Act #2 received a new animatronic skeleton and new clothing prices for the whole cast in Act #4.

We just missed the refurb then. We went to MK on Sunday. Thank goodness. I get grumpy if I don't get to see COP.

I agree with @minnie mum . I actually experienced it for myself on 7/24. We did a PPO breakfast at BOG, and it was an EMM day. We didn't head for 7DMT, but we headed straight for Peter Pan. We rode it, then Pooh, and stuff still had no waits, so we rode It's a Small World. They didn't let us into Peter Pan until just about rope drop, but we had a big locality advantage over the people entering the park. There didn't really seem to be many people doing the EMM anyway. They wore bright green wristbands, so they were fairly visible. Maybe they would have let us into Peter Pan a little bit earlier if it hadn't been an EMM day, but probably not by much.

Spirited rumor update!

DHS's ToT/Guardians overlay isn't officially off the table but at least is until some new things are added to the park where they could then take an attraction offline. The Epcot guardians plans aren't a done deal either.

Star Wars fireworks! Coming to Disneyland and Disneyland Paris in 2017!

Bob Iger and Bob Chapek feel Disneyland has been living in the past too much. They want to focus on the future and the future is Star Wars. So coming early 2017 is a brand new pyro and projection show based on Star Wars to both of those parks. These will be the new nightly fireworks show. However the Star Wars fireworks show in Paris won't be at Disneyland Paris park it will be at Walt Disney Studios park and that show will be similar to what is shown at DHS. They have been testing projections on ToT in Paris for this.

Bob Chapek also got a nice healthy budget approved for DLR for post Star Wars land...

Potter in California hasn't hurt Disneyland numbers.

I think having a new show will be fabulous for the opening year(?) of Star Wars, but after that...let's not forget this all started with a mouse. The future of Disney should not solely rest on Star Wars alone.

So this article says that Disney has lifted the blackout dates for pass holders for the remainder of the summer... is this true? haven't heard anything .....
I've heard they have but I don't know for sure because I'm not a pass holder.

The dates are what is bizarre. Completely different than previous years, and free dining over 4th of July?? Weird! Lol
Well it's only a bounce back offer. If they offered this to everyone now that would be bizarre. I'm thinking the crowds were down more this year than what's being said and they had to do something.
