The scrim was up yesterday and I'm not going back until Saturday but hopefully its down then. No idea about the second part thoNot sure if this is true but I heard the facade of the Haunted Mansion at MK was taken down. I've also heard that it was due to termites.

Unless something has changed, Al...who drives more poorly in Orlando...the "non-residents" or the residents?
I guarantee right now that the light at 535 and 536 just turned red and a tricked out numbnut mobile will be coming through in 3...2...1...
And apparently book able this morning
(Though the Star Wars parties despite now being highlighted for a few days for August and early Sept are still not open for bookings - much to the consternation of people looking to book those)
you can cross 4 lanes of traffic without your directional on because you missed the exit for Epcot or something.
You know - I've been critical of a lot of these "special" events, but at least this one is providing something unique that you can't get any other way. If they are going to do up-pay events, that's exactly what they should be. I personally would not consider the $129 price worth it, but for those that really enjoy the villians - I could see this being worth the price. Plus it doesn't impact the regular guests - which also to me is relatively important. (if you take away hours the park is open to host an extra after hours event - a la things like MNSSHP - that rather sucks.)
The morning magic hour - which just give you what you get anyways, just an hour earlier for $69 is dumb. (For the $280 for your family of 4, get a room on site and go to EMH.) This one also affects the regular guest experience because you could show up at rope drop and have 200 people in line at TSMM in front of you.
The facade is being worked on, it wasn't taken down. They have scrims up covering it.Not sure if this is true but I heard the facade of the Haunted Mansion at MK was taken down. I've also heard that it was due to termites.

This is pretty great. I haven't been to Disney in like 20 years and never stayed on property before. I'm sure it's no big deal to most but it really does ease a bit of my anxiety around not getting a rental car.

Yeah I was wondering if the directions would accommodate for parades and such.Seems like a great idea for newcomers. I just wonder if it's "smart" enough to know when things are going on that change traffic patterns. Particularly, If you are going from Splash Mountain to Space Mountain at 3:15 PM - will it rout people correctly through fantasyland instead of the hub because the parade is blocking the traffic flow? I guess MK is the only park that still has a parade anymore, so maybe it's only really a problem there.
The only negative I can see is you might end up seeing some of the less traveled paths have more people on them. I'm thinking specifically of the path along the back of the tree of life (Not the heavily traffic one from Africa to Asia.)
