I feel like there should be some acknowledgement or filter for "adventurous eaters". I'm sure the menu would last much longer if visitors knew what they were getting into. As it is, you have people looking at the name and deciding it must be cool because they loved Jungle Cruise, but not looking at the menu.
I mean, it's in Adventureland - it would be so easy to theme.
It would be really useful to have on the dining reservation site for everyone, too. The adventurous eaters would know where to go, and the parents of kids who only eat chicken nuggets would, too
I have never seen a single item on WDW property, in the grand culinary scheme of things, that -really- qualifies as 'adventurous'. It's not as if they're serving puffer fish or tripe or sweetbreads or something. I understand that people have food preferences, and that is their prerogative - but there is no reason guests cannot look at a menu before dining. Most of them have their faces buried in a phone screen anyhow - put it to good use. And if worse comes to worse, and they find zero acceptable options, they can leave and eat somewhere else.
It's just so crazy to me because Skipper Canteen's menu is really fairly basic. Some of the app and a few entree choices are a little more interesting, but it generally follows the WDW protein, starch, veggie formula.
