News Round Up 2016

It is an amazing ride. The effects are so freaking cool.

Am I the only one cringing every two seconds because of the flash photography, though?

I noticed that on some of the other ride through videos (on that boat ride to the crystal grotto or whatever it was) - wonder if that is another "cultural" thing that will have to be adjusted to

Yeah, I assume that is the case. But seriously... at least we are reaching the point in which most cameras offer good low light performance, but still... I guess they'll have to make more emphasis on that inside the attractions.

News/Video

Here is a video of Shanghai it is 90 minutes long but a full ride though of several attraction are throughout including pirates at the 21 minute mark.

Sooooooo do the eyes on the lobsters at the little mermaid section of the boat ride bother anyone else? It looks like they wrong eyes are on the wrong lobsters and they're looking in different directions...

It's a mixture of people who don't listen, don't care, and don't seem to realize that flash photos on things like that will not come out right. It happens all the tttiimmeee when we ride things like Haunted Mansion at WDW. So annoying.
What was going through me was the guy yelling comments "OH MY GODDDD!!!" through the whole thing. I understand it's awesome - but if you're recording and planning on posting it ... shhhhhhhh.

What? I actually thought that game was doing well.

I guess not. We enjoyed it when we played v1.0 but were unwilling to pony up the cash for the new base when they upgraded. Personally, I think they released the new versions too close together and didn't try hard enough to make them compatible.

I think it is a cultural thing, because I was on Pirates in MK on my last trip with a boat full of Asians, not sure more specifically than that, but I think Chineese, and they were taking flash pictures the entire time, talking, and one of them even had their phone's flashlight on for most of the ride pointing it at things and making it bright during dark portions. I complained to the CM after the ride. They offered me another ride, but I told them I really just wanted to make them aware to hopefully help crack down on it. It's one of dozens of rides for me so nothing lost, but I would hate for it to ruin a once in a life timer's ride.

yes there is a resort fee at their resorts. At cabana bay it is slightly over $30 for a night

Not all of their resorts have a fee. Hardrock and Royal Pacific do not have a resort fee but do charge for parking. I have found that their deluxe resorts are cheaper and a better value than Disney's deluxe resorts, including the parking fee, especially if you get a Cheap Tickets or annual passholder discount.

EDIT: Sorry. I didn't mean to keep beating the dead horse.

Spirited Rumor update

Shanghai might be getting a marvel coaster.

Cuts at WDW are 50% Shanghai related and 50% MyMagic+ related and no the cuts are here to stay they won't end in the summer.

Spirit says the MyMagic+ costs may be past $3 billion now.

Shanghai phase 2 is moving ahead at lightening speed. The rumored DCA captain America coaster will get reskinned to iron man or spider man for Shanghai. An Everest clone and an Alice trackless ride also in the works.

ToonTown (Roger Rabbit stays everything else goes) at Disneyland is going to get Frozen...

I hope Shanghai Pirates tech is being used in the Avatar boat ride. Those giant visuals work well at making the boat ride seem like so much more! That was simply amazing.

Some of the tech should be. We know there will be AAs in the land so it would make sense for the boat ride to have them. The ride system for the boats should be the same as well. The major difference will be length. Avatar's boat ride will likely only be around 4-5 minutes long.

If that's the case, the Avatar boat ride will definitely be an E attraction with huge popularity. I had no idea a boat ride could be so immersive. Looks like something Universal would do but with they typical Disney magic were used to. Can't wait.

I can't say I know a lot about the subject, but I really doubt they spent 3 billion on MM+ Additionally, I'd think the drastic price increases would've started back in 2012/13, not until now if that was the case.
