News Round Up 2016

Dl will open before DHS because DHS has more infrastructure work to do and I think the big focus right now is toystoryland and even with all the overtime in the world, there isnt enough labor in orlando to build two major lands at once

But does it really have more infrastructure work? Disneyland is filling in a river and building on top of that. DHS isn't filling in any water areas. As Disney Springs and Avatar wrap up there will be more available workers for the DHS projects. Disneyland is still supposed to open first but I don't buy that it opens a year or more before DHS.

I'm not sure DLR would be able to handle the crowds that will be attracted by the very first Stars Wars land in the world, so the DHS' version should be coming shortly afterwards, if this is the case.

Especially if Disneyland doesn't have that parking situation figured out.

DHS has more infrastructure to deal with back stage. they have two sets of wetlands they want to fill in and have to move roads as well as work on a new parking structure backstage for CMs. right now demolition is for toystoryland so yeah i still say that DL is going to open first because they can focus all their effort on one project. WDW right now has four major projects going and at least two of them wont be done until next year, Disney springs, and animal kingdom, as well as new construction at wilderness lodge. oh and dont forget about epcot. so they are stretched pretty thin right now whereas in california they are only focussing on starwarsland right now.

I do believe DL opens first but I can't see it being more than a few months or so earlier. I can't see year(s) between the openings. Epcot has one project major project right now that being frozen which will open in May or June. Disney springs mostly should be done by the end of this year. Avatar should be early next year.

I agree with this assessment. They won't want a year to wait between the projects being opened. The fact that they are building it on both coasts means they don't want to shift popularity too much. I realize it is unlikely they will open on the same DAY (that would probably be Iger's wish) but I think it will be no later than 6 months apart.

Sometimes hobbies collide, I found this story about the custom boats at Disney springs on one of my motorsports forums.

One thing that is interesting about the boathouse is they wanted to have all of those boats they bought out on the water and being rented all of the time. Not once have I seen any other boat out on the water other than the amphicars. There was even a plan to have yeehaw Bob preform on one of the boats during select days.
