News Round Up 2016

The rockwork does look stunning. It will be a really impressive area for sure. I'm just concerned about the maintenance that this rockwork is going to require, but I guess they took that into account.

Agreed, went by the other night and a light was on-not much different over the last few months, externally anyway.

This will be awful for people just wandering around. Hope it's open for my August 20th trip!

It's just going to move the traditional bottleneck to a different spot.

Not a bad side effect is "forcing" people through the newer area...particularly locals and Florida residents.

Fascinating to see the park so empty during the 4th of July. Definitely a consequence of the massive AP price increase, but still very interesting regardless. The rest of the days the park seems to be pretty busy, so I wonder if Disney would be willing to lower their prices back if these situations keep happening on a regular basis.
I just got back from spending the weekend there. I bought a 2 day PH and upgraded to an annual. I just moved to Cali and already have another trip planned so it was worth the price (managed to get it down to $43/month). I was able to do everything in both parks, including parades and nighttime shows in the two days. Everything was walk on until around noon then I utilized FP. I would take a break between 3-7 and finish out the night. I think the low crowds have a lot to do with peak pricing as well as APs. While upgrading at the ticket booth, I saw two families leave after finding out that tickets were $119 each and not $95 like they remembered. And that was just during the 10 min transaction...

We were in Disneyland last October and crowds were insane and heard others say the same thing that crowds were up a lot for the 60th anniversary events ... so wonder the impact of when these special things end (particularly if Disneyland Forever and/or Pain the Night leave) ... that combined with the big price increases could result in some really low crowds in the future
