News Round Up 2016

Are people balking at the price?

I mean...what's the deal? It's less that Le cellier and that has stunk for years.

I love WDW customers...I really do...they play more and more for old stuff and reduced quality but say no when something 100% new shoes up and may be worth skipping akershus or chef mickeys...

Wouldn't shock me. I saw quite a lot of people say they would not be back to le Cellier for lunch once they got rid of the lunch menu. In fact, I could snag a lunch reservation for 2 for le Cellier in an hour and a half. Looks like there are open reservations for the whole week for lunch. Most people don't want to spend that much on a lunch (and most don't do sit downs for lunch as is).

I actually really like the selection coming on line at the marketplace..

But the pictures of all the concrete and open sun look brutal. They need to soften the area with trees or canopies.

Can they thematically put a maple tree or two in there?

Do people actually pay for the dining plan? I was under the impression it existed solely to run Free Dining promos.

Yes - a lot of people do - not to derail the thread - it used to be a great value, now it can be a decent value, especially if you are a family that wants to do a ton of character meals. However, you can also eat at Disney a lot cheaper if you choose wisely.

In fact - to turn it back to the discussion - this would be a good example - to eat Lunch a Tiffins using this lighter plan would be a signifcant negative on the dining plan, but would essentially cost you LESS than if you were on the dining plan. One thing we've done since we became DVC and stopped going during free dining is we take advantage of lunch pricing and the less DDP friendly restaurants - we actually find we enjoy eating less, of course it helps that as we get older we can't eat as much.

It looks like Disney is searching out areas to increase revenue and caught in a delicate balancing act as they're close to turning away too many guests (some would say they're all ready there, some would say they actually want less guests paying higher rates).

DDP price, credits and perks looks to be next under the microscope.

Jeez, Pete...the comment was competely sarcastic/tongue in cheek.

And the dining plan is not a "good value"...it's prepaid retail for those that Largely can't trust themselves or don't want to think about it.

...too real?
......too soon?

Ok...now back to the thread

The Fonz already started jumping that shark last year
