Dining package apparently will be happening for the jungle book show coming to AK at night. These packages show there will be 3 shows a night and happen at tusker house and flame tree BBQ. This is info from the HUB. No show times are found though.

any note on what meals will qualify? We were planning to do breakfast at TH anyway so if we could convert to a package that would be great - but don't think we would add a 2nd meal just to get this

Edit: Just saw on Kenny the Pirate that it is Dinner only at TH

It just feels so odd to see a quick service location being listed as part of a nighttime dining package. Hopefully, Tiffins replaces it.

They do it at Disneyland with the Aladdin Oasis - now for Pain the Night and seems to work. But definitely is different for WDW

I know they do more tiering for dining packages at DLR as well (i.e., the more expensive the option the better viewing spot) - so wonder if they will do that to in that for Flame Tree you get a pass but for a spot not as good as if you dine at Tusker House (or, potentially, Tiffins)

I don't think we can look at Lucasfilm releases as Disney or not Disney like. Yeah, they're owned by Disney and really a Disney product but they let xxx be murdered by his xxx so they're willing to go dark.

Disney owns Miramax and they're producing Bad Santa 2.

Those are different to me. There is not to my knowledge a single Bad Santa reference invested into the Disney theme park much less an entire land.
Secondly, the spoiler is an action by the villain. The good guys all pretty much still wore their white hats.

With Han Solo as the lead and focus on a spin-off you are guaranteed to have a traditionally likable character left in a selfish and egotistical state by the end of the movie. He is not a hero yet. If that is your lead character, it could just make the audience hurt and disappointed he is not the truly heroic character that the audience knows and loves from the previous installments. One way they could soften the darkness is by introducing a lot of humor (i.e. Guardians of the Galaxy), however it still does not sound like a kids film.

It's amazing to me that Disney will pass $1 billion dollars in the box office today a full 38 days before the current record. 38 days! And on only the first day of Captain America Civil War, with some great movies to go still. What is the ceiling for BV this year? Is $3 billion out of the question?!?

Note: the record for a year is $2.4 Billion. So $3 billion might be crazy talk...or is it?

I'm sorry I'm an idiot, I still can't find the rumor even going on their site. Can you hold my hand and show me the link or PM me?

Um I love that sea idea. Brilliant.

I was suffering through a long car ride a bit ago and was imaging an AK South America land. I thought they could have an amphibious ride vehicle. So you start out on land kind of like the safari, only your driving through the jungle. Then something happens to send you off the path and boom, you end up splashing into the water and then just continue on through a river.

They could have a pretty sweet walking trail too with piranhas and jaguars and sloths and giant anacondas.

Um I love your idea for a ride too. I find it equally brilliant. What is nice about yours is that it is different than just another coaster as an E Ticket attraction like my idea was. And that would really work well in a rainforest/jungle setting, and add another water ride component for this park.

I think they'll surpass 2.4 but I don't know about hitting 3.

I don't want to keep this going in the news forum, but I just have to comment once. Wasn't Han generally antagonizing the Empire? He was a bad guy... against other worse guys, so maybe not so bad overall?

Appears booking will open May 27th
Bookings open the day the show opens? That seems strange.

Welp, this is my favorite post of the week. Especially the part about DAK post Avatar. The park, although a work of art and beauty to me, will still need more rides/experiences for those that aren't in it for the animals. I will be over the moon excited if they are already looking at changes/expansion plans for DAK post Pandora. I have always felt that there should be a Central or South American expansion where you could have Incan/Mayan ruins, a rainforest section, coupled with some additional animal experiences of course. However, what would do it for me would be to have an 'outpost' that would be a secret meeting place for S.E.A., the society of explorers and adventurers. It could be a large, ancient looking structure that had a QS element on the outer interior portions of the building, but also have a secret inner area that could be a TS restaurant. Both would be themed to the hilt of course, but a good tie in for this would be that Indiana Jones's father used to come here in his youth. There could be a nearby mine that you entered, and of course this could be turned into a rollercoaster type ride, similar to what the Excavator was going to be in Dino Land before that got scaled way back. Honestly, there are so many other ways for them to be creative with DAK, I feel like the possibilities are endless.

I love the idea of a South America area at AK, for me though, the connection to the broader themes at AK are important -- which I view as this idea of how the earth, animals, and humans are connected (via the Circle of Life a.la. Lion King; this is the overarching theme in the movie Avatar; the tree of Life, the Rivers of Light Show, etc.). I think they could continue this by incorporating Mayan, Incan culture, the rainforests (and how we can conserve them), etc. I don't know enough about S.E.A. to know how that would fit into these broader themes, but the ideas you have above seem like they would be pretty cool. Would it be too many "mountain" rides if they made a ride themed to the Andes?

I wouldn't be at all disappointed if they eliminated Dino Land USA...aside from Dinosaur (which DD is terrified of and won't ride), the rest of Dino Land is like a cheap carnival to me...and I can't stand the money sucking carnival games...my own fault for not saying "no," but our last trip I'm pretty sure I spent like $15 in game tickets before DD got a little cheap/non-Disney themed "prize." o_O

IMO 2.4 billion is a guarantee. They are likely to hit 1.5 billion with just the finish of Zootopia, Captain America and Jungle Book. That means the likes of Alice, Dory, BFG, Pete's Dragon, Dr. Strange, Moana, and Star Wars for a couple weeks they would need to make 900 million. If they made $1 billion combined I think most would call most of these movies flops as a result. I could see a couple being flops (not saying I think one movie in particular doesn't look good...but every studio will have a flop now and again), but not all of them. At least one has to make its estimate projections.

But again...3 billion is a lot. It will be interesting to watch.

I don't think it's crazy talk at all. They've got the Alice in wonderland sequel, I didn't like the first but plenty of people did and it made alot. I believe that will do well internationally.

Then they've got the bfg. That's a hard one to even estimate, but Spielberg did it, right? He's amazing working with child actors.

Pete's dragon is next. If it's anywhere near as good as jungle book it'll do pretty well, it has a great cast at least.

In my opinion, doctor strange will be another hit in the caliber of guardians of the galaxy. Benedict cumberbatch, he's so hot right now.

Moana sounds amazing and I think it'll hit near frozen numbers, apparently the soundtrack was done by some other really good Broadway composers like frozens was, so I have high hopes.

Rogue one will just be the nail in that 3 billion coffin.

Easy.

I'm interested to see how Alice does. It did extremely well oversees with the first one. I forgot about Moana, that could be a huge hit if it's frozen quality. I think the BFG will just do okay.

Isn't the live action beauty and he beast this year as well?

Han wasn't a bad guy. He was a smuggler - which makes him a "low-life" but not necessarily a bad guy. He's someone who breaks the law, which according to the law makes him a bad guy, but when the law is the Empire - hard to argue that he is genuinely a bad guy.

There's a long history of cinematic rogues that aren't bad guys. (Go back to Rick - Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca - who would do things that break the law. )

No - February 2017.

Not that Rotten Tomatoes is right, but they have the following listed for opening dates for Disney Movies that are in the top movies to see in 2017:

Beauty and the Beast - March 17th
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 - May 5th
Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man Tells no Tales - May 26th
Thor - Nov 3rd
Star Wars Eposide VIII - Dec 15th

While I don't think the lineup looks as impressive for next year (or didn't), looking at how many movies rotten tomatoes has listed from BV that are the top movies in 2017 I might be mistaken. It is a pretty good lineup and it doesn't even include whatever movie(s) Pixar or Disney Animated Studios have in store. But will be hard to beat this years lineup. I swear I thought at the beginning of the year that 2016 looked like the best movie lineup any one studio has ever had (to date), and it is working out that way.

Other movies listed in 2017 currently from BV - Cars 3 (6/6), another live action fairy tale movie (7/28) and Coco (11/22)
