News Round Up 2016

He could still be a good guy, but with dark edges..an anti-hero. I'm thinking like Clint Eastwood as the Man with No Name. Basically out for himself, a rogue, but will do right when it comes down to choosing between good and evil.
Also can have shadings of a film-nourish character.

You just made me think of Mal and his gang on Firefly. Perfect description.

The Firefly is not a bad comparison and could work. The Man with No Name escapes my memory, but most Clint Eastwood is a fiercely independent man with unique view of justice who likes to not get involved. Han seems to suffer from some excessive narcissism who has no problem getting involved as long as it is for my benefit. The key development point in Star Wars is where he finally gives up his selfish motivations to return to help Luke. It is a huge dynamic point in his character development. I believe the original poster's point is they should take great care not to undercut that moment. You can show hints of wanting to be a good guy, but he needs to end the spin-off as the same narcissistic, self absorbed, pirate that we meet in A New Hope for consistency sake. He is not a Robin Hood type or just trying to get by, but smuggling for Jabba. The most stereotypical story would be that of a good man who gets burned trying to do the right thing and then hides his pain by a facade of over exaggerated self worth and feelings they deserve the things they take from others. Just sounds dark/sad to me.

Exactly - of course Mal is a direct descendant of Han Solo. Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow falls in this category too.

Bad Guys do evil things.
Rogues do illegal things.

And yet budgets keep getting cut....

I think what we also have to remember is that there isn't one giant bank account for everything at Disney. Departments and organizations are kept separately and are managed separately. There can be cross-promotion, but ticket revenue from films wouldn't go to parks and resorts. It would go back into production costs. (And there are different film departments: animation, marvel, lucasfilm, etc.).

Just food for thought.

I know it was supposed to be a joke.

That's true and false at the same time.

Do we know what the opening of this new bus terminal will mean for transportation to and from DS? Will people be picked up and dropped off at both terminals or will the other one close now?

ETA: Duh, I just reread your post and saw that the other terminal will close.

Where exactly is this new bus stop located? Is there a revised map that shows all these new shops and bus location?

Saw that on the hub as well. Flame tree is interesting to me, tucker is a TS, Bbut flame tree a QSR?? Weird.

As someone remarked on an earlier page, they've had a CS option for their dining packages in the Cali parks for years. They get reserved seating; just not as great a view as those dining at the more expensive restaurants get. Will they separate the ROL reserved seating in a similar way? We'll see.

Got to go to the Town Center preview yesterday and the whole area looks amazing.

The buildings are absolutely beautiful. A few stores that were training were available to walk through and look great. Lots of new walking paths to get from one end of the springs to the other (which was my biggest pain point with the old layout)

This new area should definitely change the feel of the whole place, which I am very excited about
