News Round Up 2016

I disagree I think it's much more than a zoo. My local zoo doesn't have half the stuff AK does.

Like the nemo puppet show? The train to nowhwhere?

They still need more...the realities of its attendance history play that out.

They are taking steps now...beyond the very cutting edge "exclusive safaris"

Okay, take away the zoo stuff (and hey I'm biased because I can go to the National Zoo which is well above your average zoo) and how long could anyone spend in that park? There's three shows and a handful of rides.

I don't disagree I just think it's more than a zoo. I've never been to the national zoo so I can't speak but the zoos I've been to are oh look at this animal in an enclosure for a few minutes and move along. AK at least gives you a story and puts you in a safari truck.

There are many other zoos that offer Safari type experiences. Yes the presentation is well above average. But it's a zoo and for them to pretend otherwise is silly. They should embrace that and do more stuff to take advantage of the fact it's a zoo.

The Safari is great. I would like to see Disney actually add some more animal exhibits. As a zoo, its pretty tame/lame on exhibits minus the safari. Honestly, Disney should use its Chinese leverage to bring some Panda's to Animal Kingdom now with Shanghai coming on line soon. The Chinese like to dole them out as "gifts" or "on-loan". I do agree another attraction or area will be needed, but what's coming is a massive improvement so lets not be ungrateful.

They have tried to dance the line between "enough animals" and "enough rides" to save money since day one and it's #1 on the mistake list there.

But that plan is done...they need more of both for capacity if nothing else.

How many billions do you have to donate to the Chinese before they throw you a couple of pandas?

I understand that. I think you'll see people come later instead of right at park opening. Then they'll do everything and see RoL then leave. Myself I can fill a whole day at that park so I would still come early and stay later. I also probably would experience EE at night since I've never done that before. The night safaris will also be new. I'm guessing people will ride that during the day and at night for two different experiences.

Maybe, but isn't a lot of stuff at AK going to be closed at night? I know you are big on it being a full day park for you (not as much for us, but with a 3 year old it's much tougher to do all the walking). Do you find yourself not having enough time to get everything in? Aren't they opening some days till like 11 (adding what, 5-6 hours to the park)? I'm just having a tough time envisioning what there will be to do for 5 extra hours til Avatar opens next year.

No mstthing should be open at night. The only things closed will be the animal trails and I don't believe the shows will run all the way until closing. Everything else should be open.
