News: Pixar Play Parade dining package

To see a parade that ran for years in DCA. :lmao:But yeah, it's "semi-new" so I do expect demand to be up.

At least the food looks better than the Hungry Bear package for Fantasmic.

I agree mom2rk. I'm curious of how expensive it will be compared to their regular chicken meal. They are definitely trying to church it up a little with the lemon green beans and watermelon salad. I'd order it as a regular meal but I'm not going to pay $50 a plate just to see a parade I've already seen. Then again, I booked the Sonoma Terrace reception for PTN (which I've also already seen) so I'm not one to talk.

Hmmm. They only have one option for food. No vegetarian option. We've never done a meal and show package because the food is never something I'm interested in eating.

I agree with pp that the food isn't worth $50. But I don't think they'll charge that much. It's a step up from the Oasis offerings so probably $30.

Disney sure likes to squeeze every dollar out of us! I already have PTN and F! booked so I’ll be skipping this one but thanks for the info! Now...if they offer something for fireworks that’ll be a different story. Does anyone know if they have in the past?

I just looked at the food but didn't read the story. $50 for a years old parade? I'll take a hard pass on that no matter how good the food looks. Isn't RBT "only" $45 for Fantasmic? And that gets a much improved viewing area over the general public.

So I’ve never been to DL. Is this a night or day parade?

Will it have FP if you don’t get the dining package?

I really want to see a parade but with super young kids we don’t stay up late or wait around for an hour or more for things.

It is a daytime parade. No parade FPs at DL.

wow....enough with the "dining packages" !! agree with others...another $$ squeeze. NO thanks!

And honestly, if the viewing spot is down by the train station again, it's really not worth it.

It didn't say how much, a poster said they wouldn't pay $50 and I was suggesting it's be closer to $30.
OK, that makes sense. $30 seems likely since that's the price of the Hungry Bear "to go" package is for Fantasmic.

Mmmm Plaza Inn fried chicken. That is on my to do list, but probably not for the parade. I need the mashed potatoes.

Remember when you could walk up AFTER the music started and get front row for this parade? And now they're charging for a good seat. Please.

I'm sure you can still get a good seat - thing is people are willing to pay for a good seat plus they don't want to spend valuable park time waiting to secure a good seat. I don't think you've been able to just walk up and get a front row seat for any parade in many years. Not unless you've left a blanket down on the sidewalk to secure your spot - something I'm grateful they've stopped allowing!
I've never paid for a parade or WOC/F! but I am this time around, it's too convenient and if I'm going to eat at that restaurant why not!?

Nah, Pixar Play at DCA has always been walk up for us, with like 10 mins before start time. It's no PTN, that's for sure.

Agree. I think that's what GatorChris was referring too. But it will be harder to find a spot at DL since the route is smaller. Plus Disney is really advertising this. Bonus, it should be easier to see PTN at DCA though since the route is longer.

Yep, we’ve had front row seats even AFTER the parade had started! I get that there will be less seating at DL than there was at DCA but this isn’t a favorite parade of ours. I doubt we will even watch it. We only watched it in DCA if we happened to run into it while on our way somewhere or if we were killing time waiting on our friends to get off a ride. We absolutely love Soundsational and really like PTN as well. I’m really sad Soundsational is gone but excited that it will be easier to see PTN!
