Just saw this on Twitter from @InsideDLParis regarding the work in the NPB:

"Only the left part of the Hotel is currently being refurbished and they are running behind schedule.!"

Thought it may be of some use to some of you.

Oh less than 3 weeks till we go and I'm now wondering if I have picked the right hotel? We stayed here last year and loved it but when I booked again in April I thought the refurb might be slightly further along than this? It's our first trip with our grandson, do you think I should change hotel????

I suppose it depends on if you'll miss anything that may be closed? I don't know what the current situation is, but is the swimming pool or restaurants closed/reduced?

Did you upgrade to Admiral's floor? I know you were considering it before, maybe that area will be complete or it could be that the area you're staying isn't affected at all.

I'd give the hotel a call and ask them if there are any main areas closed and what restrictions might be.

I stayed at the hotel earlier this week and it is absolutely fine, so don't worry.

Both Cape Cod and The Yacht Club restaurants have reopened and are running as normal. The swimming pool and sauna are both out of action, as is the eastern wing of the hotel.

The outside of the east wing is covered in scaffolding but it is fairly discrete (it doesn't ruin photo opportunities) and there is no noise or disruption at all from the renovations.

The room I stayed in had not yet been renovated but was still immaculate - no dirt in the corners, no marks on the wallpaper etc. Only thing was that one of the lightbulbs over the bed had gone, but we didn't bother complaining about this.

Only complaints I had really is that some of the wooden fascias outside were dirty, but this is what is being replaced in the refurbishment.

Honestly, it was absolutely fine. It's still a lovely hotel and will be even better once the work is complete. If you have any questions, ask away.

Not just because it is grandson's first but also because he and my daughter got a terrible scare last week when they were the first people to be confronted by a teenager wielding a gun, and it gave her such a scare . http://www.shetnews.co.uk/news/9350-urgent-police-dealing-with-firearms-incident He jamp out of the boat on this press release and ran striaght for them Thankfully nobody was hurt, a SWAT team eas sent up from the mainland, but my poor daughter got such a scare!

Think I will phone, need to price up Admiral's floor too.....so probably best just to ring Thank you , Julie I think you are going about the same time as you . Kx
