Well hello DISers! haha! It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted anything, but I have very exciting news!!!!!

So, I haven’t been to WDW since February 2012- which I did a trip report about here:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2886076

And now, a little over 3 and half years later ( In September 2015) my husband (yes we got married since our 2012 trip—picture below from our wedding) and I will be returning to the world!!

I’ll spare you the LONG story of what all has happened to us over the past 3 years- instead let’s just stay we experienced a health miracle, moved 17 hours away to a whole new state, both have different jobs…and much more. Crazy huh!? So anyway— the time has finally come for me to start planning a WDW trip—one of my favorite activities! LOL.

Basically, we have decided that this next WDW trip will be our last “selfish” trip—meaning our last trip before we have kids. We do want the kids to come soon—I just turned 30—but since our life has settled down a bit right now—we want to be sure to get in one last “just us” trip. I know this probably sounds ridiculous to many, since I have known many people to swear that you haven’t really been to Disney World until you experience it through your child’s eyes. I’m sure this is true, I have always dreamed about what it is going to be like to take my own child to WDW…but for now….just for now…we are going to go to just act like big kids ourselves. lol. Thoughts anyone?

So, since it’s obviously only December 2014 right now- you can see I’m getting a VERY early start planning this trip- and that’s so I can get as much advice, tips, recommendations, etc. from my fellow DISers as possible! So don’t be shy!!!

What resort would be best for two 30 year old newlyweds?
Restaurants, events, etc.

Any and all advice would be MUCH appreciated! :cool2:popcorn::

It's not true that it's better with kids and you can't truly experience Disney parks if you don't have kids. Not if you make it so. As Captain Picard might say.

Spring for a deluxe resort and signature restaurants if you can afford them. (personally I can't ever recommend the dining plans for adults under any circumstances but others will have different opinions on that). As for which ones, that will depend on your taste.

We stayed at the Beach Club for our honeymoon and loved it!! I think the EPCOT resorts would be perfect for an adult-only trip- lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance. I'd also plan a special dinner - maybe at one if the signature restaurants. Good luck planning!

Can I just say I'm jealous? ;) My husband and I have been twice together before our son was born (and I went several times as a kid before that). While I'm anxiously planning our son's first trip for his 3rd birthday next year - I'm secretly disappointed we didn't have one more trip sans kid! I had one trip planned and subsequently got pregnant and high risk - ended up miscarrying and we never rebooked the trip. Total hindsight disappointment.

Congrats to a wonderful new start! Your on the dis so September 2015 is coming up, not too far away lol Happy planning. I would vote for renting DVC points and staying at a monorail resort or BWVs.

Interesting Thread.
Personally, I don't think of a couple married 3 years as newlyweds :confused3

I hope you have a great trip

She didn't say she got married in 2012, she said she has gotten married since 2012. It could have been yesterday for all we know.

We honeymooned at WDW. Stayed at WL and have gone back at least once a year since then just the two of us. Our a baby moon was actually to WDW and on the Disney Dream (yes, our final adults only trip and we choose 100% disney :rotfl:). Take some tours (the best ones you have to be 16 years old to take so it will be a while after kids), eat at the nice places that kids won't like. Stroll slowly through the world showcase. Go on all the thrill rides together since you will have to baby swap going forward and won't ride together for a while. Watch some of the videos and educational attractions since it may be tough to get kids to sit still for them. Stay out till 2 or 3 or 4 am (late emhs are great)

don't feel bad at all!! that's what DH and i are doing early next summer!! one last Disney trip before kids!! :thumbsup2 we are staying offsite to save $$, but are still planning on getting all our favorite rides in that young children can't ride lol

My wife and I enjoyed running around this year at MNSSHP in early September. I would highly suggest one of the first parties in 2015!

I will second the MNSSHP. Check out our dining and trip report if you would like. We LOVED MNSSHP. It gave us a chance to be kids again! We met so many characters that night and rode so many rides. We don't have kids, but I have been many times with my family (4 siblings) so it was nice to go with just my fiancé. We stayed at Coronado springs but I agree with others who suggest a deluxe, especially with some signature dining!!

Go on a horse-drawn carriage ride at the campground and book one of the specialty cruises. I booked the Illuminations cruise for DH 40th birthday and it spoiled us for watching Illuminations any other way. Just have an amazing time together!

Are you going during F&W? If so, I'd recommend an Epcot resort. F&W is definitely an adult thing to do at WDW. Staying close to the action would be great. Otherwise, stay at the nicest hotel you can afford. You'll appreciate it more than your future child will. Also, Take in an Eat to the Beat concert. They are great. And it will be years before you'll convince a kid to watch a group that was popular a decade ago.

Have a fancy dinner. My rec is CA Grill-- make a reservation during Wishes.

Park Hoppers-- definitely. You'll love the freedom to be exactly where you want to be at that moment. Enjoy the flexibility.

Plan resort time. Take a tour-- DH still talks about KTTK and the Segway tour. Enjoy a Richard a Petty Driving experience, rent a boat at DTD or the Contemporary. Do the thing you've always thought you'd want to do.

Enjoy.

...since I have known many people to swear that you haven’t really been to Disney World until you experience it through your child’s eyes.
As a childless annual pass holder I consider this to be a really stupid idea. I certainly have a blast every time I go and I don't need any stinkin' screaming rug rats to have fun.

The last few trips I have thought were the last hurrah before having kids, but I haven't felt compelled to go down that road yet, if at all!

We just did WDW at the end of September. I think Food and Wine started mid-month. It was a nice addition to our trip an we went to Epcot almost every day to try out the food booths or go to events. I'm not sure if they will do it again, but the Free Dining offer for that time of year came out in May. We both heavily scrutinize our budget at home so we do like we really like Free Dining because it gets us away from thinking about money.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort. It suited us fine because we really just need a comfortable place to crash. Also, this was or second trip of the year, so the cost of a Deluxe was out of the question. We had a well situated room close to parking and right next to a quiet pool and laundry. We were ill-prepared for how hot it was so I ended up doing a few loads of laundry so we could wear our "coolest" clothing again.

Our two favorite meals this time were Narcoosees an Raglan Road. Boma was a favorite our last trip, but this time we didn't enjoy it as much because of some waitstaff issues; but I would certainly go again. Biergarten is always fun and there is something for everyone to eat. Primetime Cafe was okay too, but nothing spectacular. Kona is also worth a try, I think I ordered poorly, and our sushi appetizer was the pits, but my BF's food was delicious. Also, you must make sure to get a Fast Pass for lunch at Be our Guest. The food really isn't all that great, but you will certainly want to check out the dining rooms.

My biggest piece of advice is to just enjoy yourselves. If you miss something or wake up late, it isn't the end of the world!

Lol, I'm not childless and I agree.

My wife and I have done California Grille for our honeymoon and Anniversary's and would say it's the best...if you get the later reservation you get to walk out on the roof and watch wishes along with the music. Also the food and service has always been amazing. It really makes for such a unique experience not to mention romantic. Best of luck!

Fully agree with this. Stay at one of the Epcot resorts and walk or take a boat to dinner every night!
