When I googled my question the only thing I found was people saying to avoid the heat they emit by putting it in a tray, and not directly on the lap. That thread mentioned pregnant people should not use electric blankets either and compared the heat between the two... hope that makes sense.

Oooh... I just saw this thread and so excited to see other DISers who are expecting. We are expecting our first baby on May 10th! The gender of the baby is in an envelope on our fridge...

Everything is on a time crunch for me... I just (literally, about 5 minutes ago) gave the contractor the down payment for our laundry room to be done next week. Assuming we can finish painting this weekend, after the laundry room is done... we can get the guy to come install the carpet upstairs.
And after the carpet is installed I can FINALLY assemble my crib!!

But before I get too excited the entire nursery needs new baseboard trim and the closet needs new trim, too.

And thats just 1 room.

I was REALLY tempted the first 2 weeks after the U/S. But I didn't open it. We have it there in case DH decided that he wants to know. I definitely don't want to know. If I am going to push this watermelon out, I want to have a little bit of good surprise at the end of it.... At least that's my excuse...

I didn't want to find out but when BIL/SIL got pregnant I couldn't imagine them finding out and me not knowing, so we found out.

We don't know what we are having but we finally settled on names this weekend...at least for the time being. If it is a boy he will be Mason Alexander and for a girl Amelia Rose! I thought our baby would never have a name we were so indecisive! 5 more weeks until we know if we are having Mason or Mia.

Mia is such an adorable nickname!

Naming was easy to DH and I... everyone thought we were so strange! We struggled a bit with a middle name for the girl after my grandma died.. but luckily, 10 days later we found out it was a boy so it didn't matter anymore.

No, we are REALLY bad at picking out names and getting the house ready for this little one. We are undertaking a big renovation in our house and pretty much planning for that. After the renov is done, we can finally work on the baby's room... I just hope this one doesn't decide to come out too early

I know how you feel.. DH and I just bought our first house 12-22. We've got soooo many projects going on and not 1 (and I mean it, not ONE) entire project has been finished and I'm really starting to freak out!
We're nowhere close to being able to move in and I really, really wanted to be in before the baby... not to mention that I'm not exactly sure when we need to be out of where we are..
