Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Ok, so like the title says, I want some opinions from the preggo Disney-Lovin' moms on here ;~)

We have a trip planned for mid-March, when I'll be about 16-17 weeks pg. I'm thinking of upgrading to the deluxe dining plan, as we much prefer sit down TS meals to CS. Plus I already have 13 TS credits worth of meals planned, out of a potential 21 credits if we do deluxe. That would be a whole lot of OOP costs, unless we cancelled a bunch. And no way my son is giving up his character meals w/o a fight. :scared:

But.... (always a but right?) I'm already starting with the pregnancy-no-room-for-food-in-my-big-'ol-belly inability to eat more than a tiny portion, and then being hungry again in 2-3 hours. So I know, there's no way *I* could get the full value of the deluxe plan, but maybe the convienence of having it all paid for already & if we want to do TS meals breakfast, lunch & dinner, we can, out-weighs that. Plus I'm sure I could make decent use of all those snack credits....:mickeybar when I get hungry before everyone else.

I mean we can afford it (yeah tax refund!) and who cares if I only order a soup & appy (plus dessert!) for my DxDP TS credit -- or if I leave most of a meal unfinished on my plate, right? So tell me, if you were me, would you go ahead & upgrade to the DxDP?

Sounds like a plan to me! I spend as much time planning my meals at WDW as anything else. Heck, I even checked out some of the menus at Allearsnet.com this morning, and I'm not going until July of 2010! I say go for it, and enjoy every bite you are able to eat!

Just checking in. I have been feeling good, I hope all of you are too!

Today, I went to BRU today and had so much fun browsing. There are so cute things for girls. I can't wait:cloud9:

Glad you found us, this thread can be very helpful. Is this your first?
Welcome & Congrats!!!!

Ann

Welcome! And cool! :thumbsup2 I'll add you to the list.

How have you been feeling so far?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! :flower3: This is our first baby, and pregnancy has been fantastic thus far. I have a feeling I'm one of "those" pregnant women that everyone else hates because of how easy things have been. I have had absolutely no sickness or symptoms other than excessive tiredness, which is constant in my life anyway, so I can deal with that. March 12th, just can't get here fast enough to find out if we're having a girl or boy. We don't care either way, but it will just be easier to plan / decorate knowing what it will be. Congrats to all the other mommas on here! :grouphug:

I say go for it Valerie....your trip is still a month away and your appetite could increase significantly! :thumbsup2

Eat for those of who now have to watch what we eat!

Don't feel bad, I'm one of those too! Glad to have another! :thumbsup2

I've had gallbladder issues but I can't really blame that on my pregnancy-- it would have happened eventually anyway. :headache:

Ann--- There is a TON of cute girl stuff out there! princess: Enjoy shopping!

Considering that I'm 12 wks from delivery, and just threw up supper, I may hate you a little:hippie:

Not really, but I am so tired of being sick. I'm 3 for 3 for my pregnancies, which is another reason for the tubal! I am glad that there are women out there who don't do this. Dd9 has already said she's never having babies:rolleyes: Maybe she'll keep that in mind for another 15 yrs or so, then give it a try!

OHmygod. You're 12 weeks away?
That means I'm 14. I never thought about it like that! EEEK!

I only have 14 weeks to get crap done? I'm so screwed! :rotfl:
We still need to get the contractor to build the laundry "area", schedule the carpet installer to come put in the new carpet (after we finish replacing the cielings, walls and paint all the above) so that we can start to move furniture. The nursery needs all new trim, too.
Oh, and we don't have air conditioning yet. Ohmygoodness. Someone shoot me.

I know how you feel....hubby keeps trying to kick me out for a wekend so he can paint the house...well most of it. I don't want to go, I can't sleep in my own bed, how the heck am I going to be in the twin bed my son uses at my parents house. UGH...but it has to be done. And it will be done much easier and much quicker if I leave with my 2 boys for the weekend....UGH. I don't think we're going to paint the babies room, as for now he'll be sharing w/my 2 year old and we painted it 2 years ago. Plus...I really want to get that room settled this weekend/next weekend.

I'm pulling out clothes today and trying to figure out what I can reuse for the baby. I've been so off w/season, one born end of summer (9/8) one born dead of winter 1/25 and this one spring 4/28...so it's been interesting reusing clothes.

My parents came and helped DH do some painting in the new house yesterday... but I was there, downstairs. Dr. said it was Ok as long as it was ventilated and I wasn't right in the mess breathing it directly..
So I was assembling stuff downstairs, not the best job for me. :rotfl:
Or course, we don't sleep there. Which I'm sure makes a HUGE difference-- we have a non-paint smelly house to leave and go too.

That would be tough with the clothes! I've got all sorts of stuff from clearances... he might be wearing long sleeves in July. :rolleyes1
I just really want my walls painted and FINISHED (some are still not even standing yet due to a cousin with enough time to tear them down and then get the *flu* when they're supposed to go back up... ) so that I can get my carpet installed and actually assemble my crib and baby stuffs!!! :lovestruc

Okay, ETA... because I'm a freak and I want to know when I can go to Disney World next.
Tom doesn't want to go with an infant. :( But he said we can go soon-ish! So I'm trying to figure out a good age to take him. What do you guys vote as the best? I'm looking for sometime in 2010, I guess.

Heee Heee, I know what you mean. We have a trip NEXT MONTH & I'm already thinking about when we can bring the babies back.... :goodvibes

To my way of thinking, about a year old should be very do-able. Still mainly "confined" to a stroller, less chance of wandering off, just keep 'em fed & rested & they should stay in a decent mood. Too young to have much in the way of opinions on the agenda.

But, my big "problem" to overcome is DH. He doesn't think we can take our son plus 2 babies without an additional set of hands to help. See I have more confidence than that, I'm pretty sure we'll learn how to handle all 3 kids by then. I just don't know all the details & specifics *yet.* He just can't imagine it yet, I'll have to work on him. I've already told DS, he needs to make sure to tell Dad all the things he thinks the babies will enjoy next year.....:rolleyes1

Awww.. Already working on your hubby! Thats my style! ;)

My DH has never been. He's not convinced of the magical-ness. My brother lives in Orlando and he refused to go when we visited. I got him to Universal, though. Poo-poo head wouldn't go to Disney (but I took him for a ride on the monorail around Seven Seas Lagoon and to downtown Disney and he started to understand a bit better!)

I don't want to go when it's super, super hot. So I'm trying to figure out if it'd be better to do Spring of 2010 (he'd be ~10months) or wait until the fall and maybe do Christmas/Thanksgiving when he'd be ~16-18 months)

I'm trying to stay away from 2011.. my parents are renewing their vows and rented a beach house in August of 2011.. so we KNOW we've got to get there for that and I need Disney BEFORE!!! But long enough before that DH doesn't worry about the $$...

I'm guessing it's going to be better to go fall of 2010. He'd probably get more enjoyment out of it at ~16 months, too. :( Bummer. Thats al ong time! haha.

Well I hear you on not wanting to go when it's super hot. The one trip we too in early June we thought we were gonna melt somedays. But we had some nice afternoons at the pool.

I really like Florida in the spring! (2 trips at the end of April & next month's March trip.) Plus it's sooner! :) Not big on spring break crowds though.

I may have to get over the heat issue, as DS will be in 1st grade next year, this may be the lastt time I can pull him out of school for a whole week. Ohhhh, there's always Jersey week! (We're in NJ, where they always get off 2 days at the beginning of Nov, for teacher conventions.) Maybe that's when I'll shoot for next year.

Ohhh.. See, DH and I go to college so we've got our own school schedules to worry about!!
We could go spring break in 2010.. but like you said, spring break crowds!
If we went before classes started in August, we'd still be hitting a lot of heat. We did that this year, though, to visit my brother and it wasn't intolerable. Other than that I might have to make DH take M-W classes and leave after class W before Labor day (no class labor day) and come back Tuesday afterwards or something like that. Or cross my fingers it's a class he can miss.

Otherwise we'll have to wait until December. :( This is why I plan now, before he is born, lol! So I can look at DH and say "No, we're going to Disney World that month." even if it's 20 months away. :)

Well it depends on exactly when your spring break falls. Colleges tend to have more staggered spring breaks. DS is in public school & his break is *always* the week immediately before or after Easter, when like 90% of public schools have their breaks. And of course 2 of the busiest weeks at Disney, right up there with Christmas week.

Hmm... Our break this year is March 16-20th so that might not be too bad then.
So when I deliver I wonder if someone will say "You've just had a baby, what will you do next?" So that I can say...

"I'm going to Walt Disney World! ... sometime in the next 16-20 months... "

We are going to Disney in 12 days. I'll be 24 weeks by then. I can't wait to snack around the world. Yummm.... I don't know when we will take the baby there, or should I say Natalie there. We had always said we wanted to wait until she was 5. Then we moved it up to 3 or potty trained. Who knows what we will end up doing. We are very lucky to have grandparents who want us to go out of town so they will have Natalie all to themselves. I have a feeling we will be there sooner than later with her. I can't wait to buy Natalie her first princess outfit. princess:

Next weekend the my parents are coming to paint!!!! They are so excited.

My cough is so much better. Finally. It only took 2 weeks. Other than that I feel great. No complaints at all.:thumbsup2

Our spring break is the same time (3 more wks!!!). Here it is always in March. We get a 4 day weekend for Easter. But this year, the teachers have to work on that Monday:mad: .

We have a trip planned for July of 2010. But I live in MS, so I'm used to the heat. Our 1st trip was in July of 2006, and it was cooler in Orlando than it was at home.

Dh won't "do" Disney. He went as a child, and hated it. My 1st trip in 2006, my mil came with us. Then just me and the kids went Thanksgiving of 2007 (busy, but a great week to go with all the Christmas stuff going on!). And I went to DL with most of his family last May. He had finally agreed to go with us this summer, but with the baby coming we postponed it a year. I've already paid the deposit on a townhome in Windsor Hills. We are going to do the space center together, then he is going to golf during the day while the kids and I do WDW. We'll meet up for supper, then he is going to take Katie (she'll be about 14 mos) back to the townhome while the older kids and I (they'll be 10 and 13!:scared1: ) shut the parks down at night!

My son is a huge Harry Potter fan (and me too!). So I want to fit Universal in somewhere, too. At least one day of it anyway. We are driving down, so dh will be dropping us off and picking us.

Oh, that really stinks about your spring break!
I really wish I'd gotten to go to WDW pregnant and enjoy the food. Mmm.. I really, really wanted to take advantage of those military tickets but the week we were going to go (Spring Break) my brother is bringing his girlfriend back home. I think it'd be pretty lame of me to fly to Orlando, where he lives, when he's flying home to introduce us to her. (She's Australian and never been in the states this long so shes never been back up here-- she got a student Visa to do her thesis for her Masters)... so no WDW unless I want to go when I'm 37-38 weeks pregnant which I think is a major no-no. :rotfl:

That sounds like an excellent vacation. I know I'll have days that DH stays at the pool and I take the kiddo to WDW. His idea of a vacation is no cell phone, no outside contact and his XBox for a week or so.
After this trip, it'll probably turn into mommy taking Lucas for the rest of his life. :sad2:

You know, it is cheaper that way! As much as I love him, I know he'd make us miserable if we MADE him come along. The kids are just excited that he'll be there for the vacation! And I can plan to spend some quality time with them at night, while daddy has the little one.

I'm already planning a cruise for 2012, when Katie is 3 and can go to the kids clubs. He has made it clear that he won't go, and I've made it clear that the kids and I are!
