Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Fair enough. Feud over. I just think there are many views and all of them should be respected.:hippie:

As I told you in our communication earlier, no hard feelings from me. We just don't agree. :thumbsup2
Wish you luck, and DMickey (did I get her name right?!), in conceiving soon!

I feel the need to point out that there are a couple people who post to this thread a lot that you have highly offended recently. And I'm not talking about the thread Lisa mentioned either.

Of course this thread is open to anyone, but the last thing I want to see is this thread closed for any reason. We are (mostly) pregnant and this is a place of support for moms to be, not a thread to attack opinions and ideals.

Well said.

Again I say that if all us pregnant ladies were in the same room together.... :scared1:

:lmao: I have never changed my name. We have been married since.... um... 04? I think. Yeah.. Sounds right!

 I've been married almost 14 yrs and haven't done that yet!!! :scared1: We move too much and I just never got around to it LOL.

Holy cow, you two! :rotfl:

Nobody here would change anything to my married name w/o a new Social Security card. :confused3
It was stupidly important to me to have my MARRIED name on the birth certificate, too. Probably because everyone thought DH and I got married in Vegas *on a whim* (or so they think, we knew-- we just didn't tell anyone!;) ) because there was a baby on the way.
This one is due ~3 weeks after our 1 year anniversary, so I think it's safe to say that wasn't why we got married! :upsidedow

I went to the Dr. today.. OMG. Scariest moment of my LIFE. She starts my ultrasound, and all of the sudden says.. Uh-oh.. not good. Then she yells out the door.. I need a dopplar in here..NOW! So Dh and I are panicking.. MASSIVELY. She dopplared both babies, and they were perfect.. Thank GOD. :worship:

Ohmygoodness-- how frightening!
I'm so glad everyone in there is doing great-- those are impressive twin weights! Shows how good of care their momma is taking of them! :thumbsup2

Hang in there!! You're so close!! Can't wait to see them!

:lmao: We got married in Vegas.. and I was pregnant when we got married. :rotfl2: But we had been planning our wedding for a year, and I was only like 3 weeks along. I found out the night before the wedding.

Dh and I had been married for almost 19 months when ds11 was born, and my students still thought this was the reason we got married!:lmao: So much for their math skills!

Awww.. what an awesome surprise, though!

I LOVED getting married in Vegas.
DH was stationed at Pendleton in San Diego and really, really missed the west coast. In January, for my 21st birthday in April, he gave me some money and said to book a trip to Vegas or Cali. I chose Vegas.

Around my birthday, he asked me to marry him while we were in Vegas.
We told my parents 2 weeks before we left, but no one else knew until we got back.
I loved it! :thumbsup2

I just got a bunch of stupid comments about whether or not I was pregnant. DH and I had lived together for three months when we got married which I guess wasn't long enough. That, and how young I am... made people open their mouths and feel free to comment!

The first thing that popped into my mind was that is close to the gestation of an elephant (which is what, 22 months?) and then I realized it would be totally rude to compare you to an elephant.

So I didn't.. I'm just sayin'..

That made me laugh, though! I feel like an elephant some days here lately!

So dd9 went home after lunch throwing up, and ds11 showed up in my room covered in puke. He had thrown up on the bus that takes him from the middle school to the high school (where I teach).

OH no!!! I hate it when kids are sick. :guilty: Poor things. I hope they both getter quickly.. and you dont get it!:scared1:

I hear you on the elephant thing. ;) :lmao:

I'm so sorry! My DD11 came home from school today for the same reason. DH, DD7, and DS8 all had it last week. So far, it has skipped me. But I haven't ruled it out yet. I know better. I do hope that you don't get it, though.

Oh dear! Hopefully it's a quick bug and everyone is better tomorrow!! :grouphug:

Thanks everyone. They seem to be better right now-I told them to go their rooms so I could have some peace and quiet while I cook! I'm having to wash ds11's backpack. I hope it survives the washer. It was covered. :scared:

Aww the poor kid. Nothing like losing it with your peers around you. I did that in middle school, and I can still picture the whole thing perfectly.:scared:

Okay, I really want a pickle right now...luckily DH bought a giant jar a couple weeks ago when I starting eating a little bit more regularly. He's anticipating pickle and ice cream cravings...at the same time...:scared:

Oh, no! :scared1:

I hope they feel better soon!
DH was sick last night. I wanted to take care of him and then I reevaluated and left him in bed... :rolleyes1

Somebody today told me that they can't wait to see me waddle.
(Said in reference to feeling like an elephant)

Yuck! My professor asked me Monday if I'd tried pickles dipped in yogurt yet. :confused3 :scared:

Funny thing is, I LOVED pickles before. They were always in the house. I've eaten maybe 2 this whole pregnancy thus far-- they're just not appealing to me. I'd rather eat a cucumber. Or grapes. Or strawberries. Mmmm.

As for ice cream... I'm all about chocolate ice cream w/ chopped up bananas in it lately. (Thank you Gwen Stefani, I'll never wonder again if I am spelling bananas correctly)

oh no! the flu!
it passed thru here - lasted about two days...then it was all good. and luckily, it did not go thru the entire house.

lisa. HELP me w/ this mastitis thing.

how long did it take for the affected side to return to somewhat normal? the lump is still there ... and the b**b is GINORMOUS ... seriously. it is like "what the @#% happened here?" Even my KIDS are asking why is that side so much bigger mom?
The antibiotic is cefadroxil (?) or something like that ... it took 1 1/2 days to bring the fever below 102 ... that and 600mg ibu and 1000 tylenol every 6 hours.
Now, i am bleeding again ... I had totally stopped...ack!
I know I am whining ...
BUT SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will we ever find our new "normal"? This cannot be it.
I think GOD is trying to remind me that I said this would be my last b/c i was waffling already...and saying MAYBE....
ok...whining done for a moment.

sarah - jillian LOVES katie kazoo. asked for them at school and they are gonna have to order some! we read the first four from the public library.

Just a quick drop in to say hi to everyone!!!!

Staley, glad all worked out at the Dr. Scary to say the least.

It's time for me to start thinking about registering... A Buy Buy Baby just opened, first one around here. Does anyone have any experience with this store vs. Babies R Us?
