Hello ladies!

I figured that since I've been lurking for 3 weeks that I would finally join the party today.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my first and I couldn't be more excited (AND nervous... ).

September 23rd cannot come soon enough!

I REALLY like the curtains. and I think you should go bold, I'm all about LOTS of color.

(I know what you mean about being nervous, for sure! This is my first, too!)

The curtains are from walmart.com (they're 12.96) and they have a few different colors if anyone else is interested. Pink, purple, green and light blue I think.

I think I'll go for them, thanks! I like the idea of lots of color but I don't know WHAT color!

Question! For those of you who found out the sex of your baby, how many weeks along were you? My next appt. I will be 20 weeks but my dr. says she thinks it will still be too early to tell and I probably won't be able to find out until the appt. after that. So around 24 weeks or so. I was a little disappointed because I'd read that you can tell as early as 16 weeks sometimes so I was hoping by 20 weeks it would be a for sure thing. I guess I just have to take her word on it...she is more experienced than I am!

My big ultrasound was 19 weeks or so..


Anyhoo.. Another exciting night at the hospital. I started having contractions right around 1:30 and they were way strong.. So I woke up my hubby, got the kids, and off we went! They hooked me up to the monitors, and I was contracting every 3-6 minutes. I got a shot of terbutiline, and they did the Fetal Fibrosomething test.. checked my cervix... Everything checked out so they sent me home. On bedrest.

bkreitzel-cabbage huh? That sounds so weird and I am sure it seems weird walking around with cabbage on your milk machine! Your making cole slaw huh? Sorry, it just sounds so funny/unusual! But whatever works, go for it right?

I was going to keep MAdeline's bedding set (we didn't know her sex so we went with a unisex Sea Life pattern that was very cute) but I would really like to get something new and even more boyish. And that crib looks almost exactly like Madeline's, well now the new baby's crib. Does it convert? Ours does and it has been a great crib/daybed.

staley7580-ugh! Bedrest? I think I would go crazy but at least you are further along. I wouldn't mind some bedrest but I don't know if I could be a good girl and stay on bedrest if it was for most of my pregnancy, but I guess I would be if the baby's health depended on it-I just wouldn't be a very pleasant person to be around!

As far as fast food cravings-its still cheeseburgers, I am bad about Big Macs in particular though! MMMM...a big mac! I made tacos and guacamole last night-it was yummy! we went to Carrabas for my birthday on Sunday and I have also been craving Italian food.

I had my u/s that told me the sex at 19 weeks. I think the later you wait, the better chances of maybe being able to tell for sure?

I need to call my hospital today and see when they are slated to open the new birthing wing-its got 2009 on it, but no month. I am really hoping and praying its before I give birth but I'm not feeling so positive about it. I also need to see at what age a sibling has to be to go through the sibling course they give at my hospital.

I just painted the kids room Tinkerbell. It makes the room so bright.

Welcome to all our new mommies to be. Gosh, I remember when I was on the bottom of the list. Now I am kinda in the middle. Hurry June, Hurry up and get here.

I had my ultrasound at 20 weeks and it was a very clear picture of her parts!

My husband and I went last night and finally found the baby's furniture we like. We are going to order it this weekend. I laughed at my husband because we looked at Pottery Barn Kids this weekend and he was in sticker shock. Last night the locally owned store we went to, their furniture was a lot cheaper. Needles to say, he now feels like we are getting a bargain.

I had originally planned to not find out and go neutral, too... but with SIL getting pregnant and KNOWING w/o a doubt she'd find out.. I just couldn't do it! In the end I'm really glad we found out. I've got the right mindset to prepare for a SON now and get over wanting a little girl.
It does convert! It's one of the main reasons we ordered that one. With my employee discount we got it for $289 which I thought was pretty awesome!
What are you thinking about for a little boy bedding??
I ended up with that one because I found it so cheap!


MinnieFan-- I know what you mean! I'm so ready for June!!! All the girls at work think I planned his due date so I could get all summer off.

Just wanted to share some pics of our nursery. It got filled up a lot faster than I thought it would. We ended up having to put the drawers in the closet to have enought room!

Many people think the yellow is too bright, but I like it!

OMG Carebears!!! That's awesome!! I have every carebear made in the 80s except the ones that were only available in the UK and some of the cubs. It's the thing I collect. Now you've got me thinking!! I'm sure FIL could do a mural of them too...ohhhhh....and I could display all my old bears!!

I had an ultrasound today to check Caleb's size....yes he's still a boy and this time I have a picture to prove to hubby.

He's measuring huge, no surprise here. Head like 30 - 30.5 weeks. Belly/arms/legs 31- 31.5 weeks. I guess they avg it all out and give a better idea of size. I'm 27 weeks 4 days, so he's huge. When I had my 24 week appt. OB got 26.5 weeks based on size...so ya, he's huge.

Oh well...2 year old is calling for me, refusing to eat. Hubby is out of town, the joys!
